@TheWikipedo It's fine that you appreciate traditional circus, but please avoid from disrespecting Cirque de Soleil (and dance). I know little about non-juggling, but I'd claim that Cirque de Soleil has/had the best jugglers in the world who performed in circus (Anthony Gatto, and arguably Victor Kee). There are loads of great jugglers in other circuses, but (whether one likes it or not) none of them are as amazingly skilled as Gatto.

You said it. Ban circus animal acts.... don't promote this kind of crap. If humans want to perform, fine... just don't drag innocent animals into it.

hmm..not a a lot of people seem to be that interested..

but other animals such as elephants etc do not learn as easily. though you give your dog love, he/she is practically family while the circus animals are just for money. perhaps your circus may be okay, but then you still dont know what happens behind the scenes in other ones. furthermore there has been footage where animals ARE beaten and tortured into doing their acts (search it up) and for all we know, the smile was beaten onto her (or not but either way...)

@TheWikipedo Ah, that's fine then. I felt you came on a little strong saying (slightly paraphrased) traditional circus is better than Cirque de Soleil, which is like a dance. I'm sure there are people who feel that's right up their alley! It just appears that neither of us are one of those people. Maybe Cirque puts too much money into promotion, and not enough into other aspects. Or, more likely, we're just not its target market.

However, this is starting to look more like a rec.juggling discussion (I guess that's what you get when two rec.ers start talking on KZfaq) so I think I'll call it a day. But first, I'll bite! I would say fish, but I've never been one to differentiate between meat and fish.

I don't mind if they use dogs. Dogs are easier to train so there is no reason to beat them... Besides, dogs are over-populating and they dont mind it so this good be a good thing. But elephants.... No. Fuck that shit.
