Had mine for two years now, still love it. The lugs are a little long but it is mean't to go around the outside of a wet suit. I find it very comfortable and it makes a great dress watch.

Thanks for sharing that... not sure I agree that the lugs should be that long. No reason why it can't be shorter for aesthetics on a wrist... it can still go around a wet suit if needed.

Nice watch. I have the 3rd version of the reissue. The 1st (2007-2012) no date, was based on ETA2824-2 (28800 vph and 42 hr. reserve). The 2nd with date (2009-2018) and movement as per above e.g. cal.L633 / L3.674.4 .. which you are reviewing. The 3rd version came out in 2018. Still with date and the same super-compressor case, but the movement inside is based on ETA2892-A2 cal. L888.2 / L3.774.4. This particular movement has been slowed down to 25200 vph. to increase reserve to 65 hours. I managed to get out of it 69 hrs at 23°C room temperature. The measured accuracy on Elma 3 timegrapher was --0.9 / +3.9 sec in 6 positions, with beat error 0.2 max. after 3 days of wear. The 3 versions of Legend Diver reissue are based on the original reference 7042 diver watch, released in 1960. The case back depiction of diver without scuba bottles, pre-dates ref. 7042. It goes back to 1953 Longines Bathyscape Trieste submarine and subsequent release of Longines "Nautilus Skin Diver" 1950s. As it hapenned, in 2019, Longines has as well re-released their 1950s "Nautilus Skin Diver" By the way, the wooden box, watch comes in ... is genuine ply wood.

Awesome man, thank you very much for taking the time to share those details, I very much appreciate it and I am sure others will also! That latest movement sounds rather impressive and reminds me of Omega Co-Axial modified movements - those are also slowed to 25200bph and have a longer power reserve than the base ETA. Cheers, Ivan :)

Nice reviews as always, Longines have a good history and I like the way this version is almost exactly the same as the original. Very pretty watch and not trying to be anything other than what is. Hi Ivan, thanks, great review. Nice enough watch, but even at the grey price of $1600 , I think there are other watches I would rather go for. The 52mm l2l width and lack of lume is also a bit off-putting. Also, I've recently acquired a Glycine & an Armand Nicolet, so my capacity for unnecessarily big boxes have reached it's limit. The Oris 65 is mentioned elsewhere, and I think the Chronoris is also a good alternative. Strictly speaking neither are divers because of their 10 ATM WR, but they just appeal to me more (especially the Chronoris with its super compressor looks). Cheers.

in terms of versatility, ball engineer master ii gmt diver definitely beats this. having a gmt hand and tritium lume in addition to a inner rotating bezel and 300m wr just makes it the ultimate do-everything watch. meanwhile, longine ships a diver with leather bands lmfao.
@PerthWAtch
@PerthWAtch 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately you misunderstood my point. In terms of do anything, 200m vs 300m makes no diff to 99.9% of people, and if it’s features you want then get a Casio. Versatility here refers to *appropriate* use in different circumstances. You can go to the beach and dive with this Longines, and you can wear a suit. At a push you can even go black tie. The Ball... well you *could* wear sneakers with your suit, but you shouldn’t.
@Ballacha
@Ballacha 3 жыл бұрын
@@PerthWAtch you can fly to a tropical island, dive, and track your home time with the ball. That’s an entire lifestyle covered by one watch. The longines on the other hand, is a dive watch and a (sort of) dress watch. You’d be pushing it to say these two activities are related and people who bought the watch for one purpose is definitely going to use for the other.

wtf??, Is very similar to Vostok Amphibia!!, is like a reverse homage because this one cost 10 times more!! XD...by the way that internal rotating bezel is useless under water!!
@PerthWAtch
@PerthWAtch 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment - haha I think it's quite different from the Amphibia actually, except perhaps the handset. Keep in mind the original Longines design is older than the Amphibia, so in actuality you can consider the Amphibia the homage (although I don't think it as such). Good point about the bezel - I realised that too but thought that for proper dive use you would set time at the beginning and aim not to turn the bezel during the dive itself no?
