Lemmy was the embodiment of Rock. The phrase "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" was invented with Lemmy in mind. He lived hard and played music literally up until days before his death. He was also, by all accounts, a nice guy.

This song came out around 1980. All 3 members of the band have passed away. Lemmy, the lead singer/bass player is considered a rock god. This song is meant to be played at a volume that will have the neighbors call the cops!!

Motorhead was a British Heavy Metal Rock band. During the late-1970s and early-1980s, there were a lot of Punk Rock and New Wave bands in the British music scene. Lemmy Kilmister (the lead singer and bassist for Motorhead) stated this at the start of their concerts, to let the listening public know what to expect musically, so that music fans would not get irate, and start a concert riot, if they were not satisfied with the band's music. This was a real problem in nightclubs and small music halls in the UK in those days, with fights and riots breaking out in the venues due to people being intolerant for certain types of music that were different from the one that they liked and /or loved. The British Ska band, The Specials, sang about this in their song, "Ghost Town" (the music video for that song is available for viewing here on KZfaq).

@Jonas FromDenmark I think Motorheads "Whiplash" cover was the bigger honor for Metallica since that song was designed to sound like a Motorhead song... and their cover won Lemmy his first and only Grammy. Btw, personally, Enter Sandman is not what I would call one of Motorheads "good" covers. Their Stones and Bowie covers however are amazing.

Lemmy was the living definition of a rockstar, so many stories and facts about him such as.. -he used to order Jack Daniels by the crate load and drank 1 whole bottle a day -his manager told him to get a blood transfusion to clean out his system but the doctor said his blood was so toxic that clean blood would kill him -his main place to hang out was the rainbow bar & grill in hollywood and he was there so much he had his mail delivered there -he was once in the band "Hawkwind" but was kicked out and left at the border in canada while they were on tour and his revenge? he slept with all their wives -he had a massive collection of war memorabilia, he was once caught in his tour bus in a full gestapo uniform spanking a naked girl with a riding crop "Born to Lose, Live to Win"

Try "God Was Never on Your Side." Supernatural, the TV show, brought it into the spotlight. Especially to those who never heard the song before the show played it. Old bastards like me who were blessed enough to have seen them live in the 80's, and know more songs than "Ace of Spades", "Overkill", "Hellraiser", etc., knew about that song years ago. That song will give you chills. You do not have to post the song, just listen whenever and compare to "Ace of Spades." Lemmy RIP.
