Mother Carey, Saucy Nancy, Worzel Gummidge. Ethereal, beautiful haunting music from the BBC Series Worzel Gummidge. I own none of this but wanted to share

'Mother Carey' such a beautiful, lovely song, Beautifully sung by both Shirley Henderson and Dame Venessa Redgrave, how lovely to be like Peg (Dame Vanessa Redgrave) and live in the bow of HMS St.Agnes, the ship that fought in the battle of Trafalgar, and mending the local fishermen's nets, "is that you Stan, it don't sound like you, why you walking funny, got bunions", and Stan's reply "new boots Peg". 'The Scarecrow Of Scatterbrook', 'The Green Man', 'The Saucy Nancy' and 'Calliope Jane' are my favourite episodes.

So did I. I loved the music so much. Hope they do more Gummidge soon. Trouble is, the kids grow up so fast…really saw that in the second series. Not sure how they get around that with new actors.

Beautiful version of Cicely Fox Smith's poem with music by The Unthanks' Adrian McNally. I hope they do a full version soon.
