Am I the only who didn't know you can legally abandon a baby up to 30 days as long as it's a "suitable place" or "appropriate person"?

It’s called the Abandoned Infant Protection Act (AIPA). It’s only a law within New York, not in any other states, as far as I’m aware.

Each State sets its own infant surrender laws. In CA you have up to 72 hours from birth and it must be handed directly to someone at a fire station or hospital.

No one knows what really happened. Maybe she is mental and just panicked and baby came early and freaked out running across the street to the hospital. Who knows glad the baby is OK though and at least baby will know who it mother is.

Sad but let's remember that a lot of other states have changed the abortion laws so this is going to happen more often! Not condoning what the mother did but this has been happening a lot all over our country lately! Glad the newborn is now safe! ❤

Due to incidents such as. This. Dallas County passed a law, you do not want your child. You can take it to any church or firestation. No questions asked. This, was after a person at bus stop, on xmas eve. A nurse named her Christa, and adopted her. Happy ending.

I live on the next block, the baby was found by our local homeless man who is a double amputee. He told the doorman. I’m glad the baby is ok.
