I cannot even begin to explain why, but, "I am a rock on top of the sand," is such a specific and powerful descriptor it's almost ungodly. Mother Mother never fails to impress, and their profound use of figurative language and imagery is enough to make any English teacher shudder.

the reason i love mother mother's music so much is because they're so good at changing the vibes of a song. this song and arms tonite are a good example of this. there's definitely more cheery joyful melody and instrumentals that make you feel well... cheery and joyful but then they almost always have that like beautifully aggressive harmonizing, like at 2:07, that just adds an extra layer that's super fun and exciting to the song. one of my favorite bands. they're geniuses.

This song actually hits me kinda hard. I'm a naturally destructive person, and so whenever I start something new, I have the urge to tear it apart or watch it decay. I was dating this girl, and she was just way to clingy for me and I spent almost every hour of the day trying to piece her back together. I've always been drawn to people with emotional issues, and I try to help, so she was just like a massive calling for me. I eventually broke up with her because I knew it wasn't right, and people blamed the fact that I'm destructive for "Dumping" her, when in reality? I was just sick of human interaction.
