Yep, this is the one I use to sooth my migraines. I had just run across the girls a couple days prior, watched every last official video on their channel multiple times, made my first iTunes purchase EVER (and first money spent on new music in DECADES) when I called up a friend of mine who had played guitar professionally in Japan back in the 90s. "Dude, I just found THE MOST AMAZING Japanese band! and they're all girls! and all dressed up li...." "Oh, you found Band-Maid, here, let me send you a link" ONSET. I swore I had no idea it could get any more amazing than what I had already listened to.

I like seeing how happy they are on stage. They always seem to be having a blast. I love seeing bands truly enjoying what they do and feeding off the crowd. This goes for all of my favorite bands as well.

I don't remember your exact quote, but the description you gave of Band-Maid in the beginning was spot on & perfectly described them as a band. Five equal pillars, none standing taller or stronger than the other. Or something like. Anyways great take, & great reaction as always.

Some don't give Miku enough credit. Not only did she envision the concept, but she realized she wasn't the strongest singer and got Saiki. She fell dropped to backing vocals, and learned to play rhythm guitar to double those as well. And, in addition to being the spokes-pigeon and tireless promoter for the band, she writes the lyrics too. Never slight her, po.

The band: Saiki "I'm the only normal person here." Atsumi, lead vocalist. MISA "the assassin" Bass. Akane "Drumzilla" Hirose. Kanami "l love you, Saiki" Tono, lead guitarist and last but by no means last the irresistible, irrepressible, indomitable and loquacious band founder and chief spokespigeon Kobato " l rent a little space in my head to an 810 year old pigeon" Miku, rhythm guitarist and main lyricist. Po! (I am not making any of this up and while the doves and pigeons say coo, coo where you live they say po, po in Japan). I saw these guys in LA. They are off the charts in concert live.

Been a fan of metal, rock music for over 30 years, i also love many other styles of music, dance, jazz, classical, etc, all musical styles, but every flippin day for the last two years, i blooming listen to band maid, aaargh, can't get them out of my head. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I sincerely hope not. Whitney Houston and Biggie, God rest their souls both and with no disrespect intended, were just inducted. Neither has any business being in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Band-Maid deserves far better than that.

Honestly, it sometimes is! That's why some players use stuff like tape markers on the back of guitar necks and glow-in-the-dark side markers on the fretboard or whatever else.

@@thetwitchywarlock some even have LEDs in the fretboard. Personally, on my custom I got a completely blank black ebony fretboard with only an inlay at fret 12 (the octave) and white dots as side markers. It was OK with stage lighting and off course it helps to have practiced your stuff well. I'm sure there are more "visible" guitars though ;)

Man that was fun, the playing on this is killer! Another Japanese band that's amazing it's "Unlucky Morpheus", you should check out the song "Knight of Sword", they are a female fronted japanese power metal band, you won't be dispointed!

I feel the same way you do about them. As good as they are I'm surprised that no one has tried to get them more publicity in the U.S. I don't care if I don't understand half the lyrics. Their musicality is out of this world.

I've asked several well known websites to review their albums, one sleazey (hint) site replied it wasn't their style of music and they couldn't understand the lyrics, wtf? Doesn't stop them reviewing baby metal? 🙄

Band Maid is coming to Mansfield, Ohio for the Inkcarceration Festival 2020. It is from July 10th, 2020 to July 12th, 2020. This is only about an hour and a half plane ride from Atlanta. You should definitely check it out. They are sure to be the crowd favorite. About 40 bands will be performing including blink-182, Weezer, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Puddle of Mudd and many more. I will definitely be there. Hope to see all the Band Maid fans there.

Oh btw !!! If you like instrumentals there's a Japanese 3 piece band called Asterism who are all teenagers and play like they've been on the circuit for years!! Check out Light in the Darkness or Rising Moon. You won't regret it!!😁

Dude, you and I at a Band Maid show would be epic. I’m “that guy” who completely loses it in the front at shows. By the end I can barely walk, can’t talk and can’t hold me head up because my neck is just DONE. Come to LA next time they are here and I got your VIP ticket...seriously. Just be prepared to line up before the sun comes up.

True enough. I got to the Echoplex in LA at 8:45 am for a show that started at 8:00 pm. Spent the day meeting some cool folks from all over. There were already at least 25 people standing on Glendale that had arrived before I did.

@@sjnix7044 Unfortunately no. I drove down from Sack o'tomatoes so l was only there on the 30th. But l believe we both saw pretty much the same thing. People of all descriptions from all over getting along well together while waiting for the show to begin. Very best regards.

You are in deep son, and there's no turning back. This was quite the, shall we say, demonstrative show of ebullience!! haha I have fallen deep for this amazing quintet but strangely it took me tow tries to realize that they are hands down the most interesting and imaginative rock band on the planet right now, although Avatar might be right there as well. I can't get enough of them and I will be hopefully right in front of you near the front of the first Band-Maid show here in Atlanta!! Please let that happen in 2020!! \m/ \m/

To answer your question at 5:25 "You ever hear something you love so much that makes you go grazy and smile?" I think you just got a glimps into what they people experienced in the 1964 when "Beatlemania" swept the world. The last time I watched a musicvideo this often was when Coldplay released "Life In Technocolor II" I am not a huge Coldplay-fan, but that song is really, really ... really good. (!) Also the videoclip was amazing. But "Onset (Saiki Pee Break Song)" is an amazing song. It also makes me crazy and smile! So you are not alone!

They will in the US this year, they are booked for a festival in Ohio. Haven't seen any other dates yet. They are signed with Live Nation, more dates this time I hope. A lot of interviews popping up on KZfaq with English Subs, Miku gave away that MISA has the best body in the group, not sure I really wanted to know that. Still waiting on Puzzle live and Puzzle acoustic, I think you can live through it!!

@@ixachilanca On July 11th Inkcarceration 2020 held at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield which was also the prison used for the movie the Shawshank Redemption. The prison was shut down in 1990. It has shops, restaurants, and bars inside the old prison and large grounds for concerts. Free tour of the prison with paid admission. I was told 40,000 attended last year. Oh, how I waited for you to react to this one! After watching probably all of their songs by this point this one still continues to blow my mind. This song truly lets the four players shine. Kanami is an absolute goddess when it comes to playing guitar in my opinion. And the thing is that that is only one of the instruments that she can play. But my favorite moment is Akane's little drum part at 05:00 for some reason I just love that part.

Dude, I'm in Peacthree Corners/Norcross and another buddy is in Decatur. We went to all the Band-Maid shows in the US last summer. We need to get together and have a beer my man!

This band is such a fucking blessing \m/ Honestly, if one day they make a Brutal Legend 2, they must make Band-Maid appear in it. I imagine them very well as metal battle maids devastating the troops of demons with their music.
