@@Skankhunter420 It's because it plays closer to real life, and people have this weird misconception about ship survivability due to Hollywood, just like they have a misconception about tank survivability. Example for tanks in warthunder, APFSDS performs just like it would in real life, they are often called long rod sabot and are specifically designed to be more effective against angled armor than flat armor, feel free to google about this on your own. Edit: the biggest issue is the distances we are engaging at, we are far to close, especially for the ships, making to easy to pinpoint the conning tower and AA mounts to kill crew off. In fact AA crew shouldn't even be considered part of the total crew for Warthunder as they are not critical to the ships survival. This way ships can get their AA knocked out allowing for planes to have some more playability.

how can one not know about that MASSIVE copoula on the tortoise? Honestly, it looks nice, and all, but it is garbage when compared to a jgtiger (same pen, but with explosive rounds)... being killed by a tiger II frontally is a real turn-off for me - it is a TD, it is meant to look menacing and deadly - yet, when you face a Tiger II, it has the same trouble hitting the tortoise than the other way around (with the difference that TIger II has APHE and a turret)

@@limaTheNoob Because people panic and aim centre of mass. The cupola is a good weak-spot, but often just kills the gunner and you have a lot of crew. On the level, or if you angle a few degrees, the tiger 2 can't pen the majority of the front even at close range, and they can't pen the sides up to a decent angle either. Up to 2k range (a range where even the cupola can bounce the tigers shell), the tortoise can still reliably punch through the turret face of the tiger 2, which it needs to expose to shoot at you, and is often 1 shot kill. Tiger 2 is good, but i rarely get killed by them frontally. Leo's the likes are a bigger threat with their HEATFS, but I find still rarely 1shot it because of the size, amount of crew and the fact the ammo is behind spaced armour, modules and tracks..

@@MrEsphoenix You are right in your statements. My only problem is: compare that match-up with JgTiger vs T34 or T29. That JgTiger is absolutely immune frontally ( sure, you can shoot the LFP, but good luck getting past the transmission, as conveniently usual with most german tanks), while the T-series tanks are an absolutely easy LFP OHK for any real german gun (in fact, I usually get rid of those T-series tanks with much lesser guns, as the soviet 85mm). Tortoise can surely compete (especially if you consider that Germany players seem to be unusually bad, they simply don't learn to play the game - hence their struggle with things like the Jumbo, for instance), but, when in comparison with its counterparts (JgTiger or the Ho-Ri Prototype), it just pales out - unlike this behemoth of a tank called IS-6 (honestly, why can't Gaijin make heavy tanks actually HEAVY - hard hitting, SLOW moving, nearly invulnerable tanks? Starts with the KV1 and goes all the way up - heavies are just TOO fast, mobile). I usually refrain from commenting HEAT-FS because, at that point, the game becomes pointless to me (everything is an easy target frontally, boring - I honestly found playing the US M48 too boring and somewhat easy, because wherever you shoot, you pen and either OHK or cripple the enemy tank... boring)

@@limaTheNoob This game gets very frustrating if you start comparing vehicles in such a way, and I never claimed the tortoise was the best SPG or anything. My point was that the tortoise and is6 both went through the same life cycle of being OP, then nerfed and rarely played, and now are good again because people have forgotten how to deal with them, or are new and haven't seen them much.

The only thing I wanted to really say on your comment is that, while the cycle thing you point out is true, I think the tortoise has far more obvious weakspots than the IS6 (I almost never face either of them, but I know full well where to shoot a tortoise, while I have no clue on how to pen an IS6 frontally apart from, maybe, mantlet). But, yeah, you are absolutely right. I kinda have to relearn how to have fun in the game, because I can very quickly turn into a sea in face of the abundant salt withing me. PS. I'm a new-ish player (mid 2018, maybe).... has the tortoise ever been such a great tank as the IS6, or something to be REALLY feared like this cancerous behemoth used to be? lol Not knowing the past, it seems to have always been "meh", while IS6 was invincible, and then got power crept to balance

damson wut? You need way more skill in WoT overall because there are more game mechanics in play. HP, camo, spotting, new equipment can give your tank some interesting memes to work with.

@@shmekelfreckles8157 Cant really see your side. WT requires more tactical skill, dedicated teamwork and placement/map knowledge due to the lack of arcade style game play elements. WoT is more of a point and click adventure game.. in my opinion. It really doesn't seem to take much to go from WT to WoT because its just.. easier. A lack of semi-realistic mechanics makes it an arcade shooter and not a semi-realistic (read, SEMI) slower paced tactical shooter. (Discounting speedy bois) But hey if you like WoT better than you like WoT better. Play the games you like tbh
