What a good son you are. I wish I was able to take my mother to Okinawa. She had Parkinson disease and no longer able to travel back to Japan. She passed away 3 years ago, I miss her so much.

It’s funny he bought sushi from daito islands. They are two islands, inhabited by people from Tokyo and Okinawa from 100 years ago. It was a colony. So their culture is like half Tokyo, half Okinawa. My dad used to go there from Okinawa for work. You should visit Zamami island, it’s beautiful and you don’t need to rent a car to go there, you can easily go there as a day trip from the Naha port.

Yr mother is always most happy when she is with you, her precious son, and in Japan. She should live with you full-time.

We stayed at JAL Naha City a few years ago but we always rent a car and they don’t really have parking - we will probably stay on Rt 58 at the Nahana Hotel snd Spa when we visit in the Fall - lots of back streets and walking distance to Naminoue Shine snd the Chinese Garden. Can’t wait to follow the rest of your travels 🌺 I hope your mother had a great time!

Ashai is definitely a required taste. And yes, I’ve tried the none alcohol version, the “Dried” version, and I was like “definitely an acquired taste for those who are not beer drinkers.” But definitely great for those who have drank or enjoy beer. So, I’m with those who don’t drink beer or lot of liquor. And great that you guys are enjoying the time with your mom. 😊
