Lmao……….I live in New Orleans and never heard of this place. I see why. I hate to say it, but that ain’t “real” New Orleans soul food. Why you didn’t ask somebody? The lack of melanin in the line should have jumped out at you! The red beans are embarrassing.

I remember I had friends that came to Philly and I took them all over place and they just kept saying how beautiful Philly is. I never paid any attention to it because I'm from Philly. But, when I would go to other cities, I would think their city is awesome, until one day I was looking at photos and realized it wasn't, it was just new. I think most ppl don't appreciate what they see every day but appreciate things that are new to them. It was ppl coming from out of town that made me appreciate Philly, the Parkway, Olde City. UC, Chestnut Hill, Germantown, Fairmount Park etc. Side Note: There are certain parts I hope our new mayor does clean up, if she doesn't the developer will. 😂

I stayed at a hotel directly across from Mother’s and the lady at the desk advised us not to go to Mothers’s. She said the birds wouldn’t eat it! So we went to The Ruby Slipper.

Mother’s is another tourist trap in New Orleans. I get so sad when I walk past and see a line outside the door, knowing no one from New Orleans eats there, and knowing there are hundreds of better places tourists could go.

You have to go early and get a black ham biscuit (they sell out early it’s the bark, so damn good) and grits with debris gravy, mannnn no you don’t get a platter at Mothers. You ain’t even got cornbread. Shoulda got a Ferdie. They are famous for the Ferdie it’s shaved ham with roast beef gravy called debris.

There probably saving themselves from doing extra dishes and call it a platter lol. Because it probably be best served in individual side dishes. But then it will be just a plate with a few pieces of ham. Plate the ham and rice and beans. Then serve other sides individually. I get you though looks mushed together.

We were in New Orleans this weekend and were going to visit that restaurant and decided against it after reviewing it on Yelp and then Google. Beautiful Husband and I pretty much look at photos and reviews of those who eaten at restaurants prior to visiting. But you cannot put a lot of stock in reviews. Therefore, another system we use is to order drinks and then put off ordering while we plate watch😂. We look at menu priced, portion sizes, servers service, and food presentation and the people eating there. If those food sizes are child portions and the folks eating are mostly elderly meaning flavors most likely will be lightly seasoned that is a strike. It is other criteria we use to stay or leave. If criteria's are not met, We finish our drinks and politely decline eating and leave. Mother's is an 😢 Overpriced mediocre mess. Yess, I live outside of New Orleans. Sadly, the food experience in New Orleans is not the same before the hurricanes. Katrina and Covid ruined New Orleans food experience since many native chefs left, died, and the many suppliers went out of business forcing chefs in making changes to recipes. Or recipes were change because chefs from other states with no historical knowledge about the cuisine incorporate their flair and the authentic flavors are lost. Thank you for sharing your experience, that was too much to pay for portion size and food quality. I encourage you to create a criteria when eating out because these rest these restaurants do not hesitate to charge you more for less. Love your channel🎉

Sorry the server, said everything was best. Thank u for acknowledging u made bad side choices. You seem tired, remember I commented on a earlier video, I was there for 2 weeks for Mardi Gras and never had a bad meal. 3 days is not enough to enjoy the food, aleast stay a week. @JL JUPITER - Hey, I am a fan from Chicago. JL, if you come here, please step outside of the city, and take a trip to ELK GROVE where you need to visit and try - RAMMY'S SUB CONTRACTORS. They have their own bread baked just beside their store, and offer some fantastic tasting subs and a good variety of Chips that are not very well known. I really like this joint, and I head over there once or so every two weeks(I like variety, ok)..... If you stop over again, or if you stop over, please give them a try. Super awesome place that not many go to eat at....Also, not too far from there, for Pizza, check out MORETTI'S - Skip the Giordanos, the Rosati's, and hit up Aurelio's, Nardi's, Casino's and on and on. Many places in the subs that will outdo the bigger guys in the city. Do try RAMMY'S, however... Great place to have a sandwich.

When that food came out, I thought of some generic food that you would get if you were invited to have dinner at your friend's house on a school night... Once you see the food his mom cooked up, you instantly knew to never accept another dinner night at that friend's house. For anyone who has a mother who can cook genuine food from the country that their family is from, you know how good your mother's cooking is and how it completely outshines anything a "domestic" mother can put together. Casseroles, Hamburger helper, canned soups, hotdogs, prepared tacos, veggies from the freezer, and so on can never give a child or even an adult the nutrition or the satisfying taste that a person knows of. Home made soups from actual stock, Tacos from actual beef and homemade tortillas, Chicken from the over or frying pan with the correct breading and seasonings, as well as hand cut potatoes baked to perfection or lasagna made with hours of prep, PIEROGIES that take a full day to make, Ribs the Cajun way, Shrimp and Crab prepared fresh with the herbs and spices to match, Lamb, DUCK, RABBIT, VENISON, actual chili slow cooked, and so much more.... Those dishes are what fill you up... This is not one of your best food vids, that is for sure....

You say "pet peeve" but employees dont like being put on the spot because either way its still opinion based..Also ive worked in the restaurant business for more then 30 years and one thing you need to know is most employees create their own things to eat ( depending on type of establishment) ..Think about someone going to your workplace and asking annoying questions because it seems cliche.
