However, yours is very useful to me. I can use your troubleshooting techniques to troubleshoot and repair my laptop motherboard where it appears that the fan is not functioning adequately even though I have already installed a new fan, and applied thermal grease to the heat sink. During video editing to publish in KZfaq, the video editing application generated too much heat due to incorrect scale specification to convert from portrait format of source video to landscape, and heard screaming sound for a while followed by a pop sound. I was doubting failure of some MOSFET that controls the fan speed. You clearly demonstrated the source for the malfunction of the CPU cooling fan speed. Also you have described how to order (how to specify when ordering) MOSFET, which is very important and useful to me. My soldering/desoldering equipment is already ordered and on its way. SMD testing probes are also on its way. Thank you very much for covering the entire topic of no display and boot failure. I already liked and subscribing soon after finishing this comment. 1) To what temperature you set your hot air gun while desoldering? Please mention degree F or degree C for the temperature setting. 2) I know you used flux while using hot air gun to desolder the MOSFET. To install back the MOSFET, did you put any thing under the MOSFET before applying hot air so the MOSFET could stick to the motherboard? Thank you very much for a quick response to my previous comment.

Your information was very useful especially the last you said to change the processor and see. It really worked. One thing I would like to share is that when I removed the processor and checked the mosfet no shorting was found. So guys as told by you, don't check without removing the processor may lead to confusion.
