I used to work from home. I quit when I was expecting my fourth baby because there weren't enough hours in the day. Sometimes I would be homeschooling the kids or cooking supper, and I would get an email from a client. I would feel like I needed to go respond right away or they wouldn't like me anymore. It was too distracting. I had to choose what my priority was going to be, and I chose the kids.

I really have the ideal situation. I have a part-time job for a local business owner who himself has 6 kids. I get to set my own hours and help him administratively throughout the week. I LOVE it too. It's also so helpful working for someone who gets it. I had to take an extended time off after my first was born and my boss said "You want and need to be with your baby. Take all the time you want." He knows I will be with him and the business until we begin homeschooling in a few years and is totally for that. It doesn't detract from my kids now. And if it ever did, my husband would ask me to walk away from it. But for now, I get to do both.
