These reviews are very helpful. I love my Forge Ember and it became my go to on house and sport. But it was also the strongest ball I had, and needed something more. Since you compare a lot of Motiv balls, and I know what my Forge Ember is as baseline, it makes it much easier to know what I should get. Even using a ball less than 14 lbs. Ambush hooks a lot. A surprising benefit is, it's helping me to practice deep inside lines. There are times at tournaments I know I need to move way inside, even in front of ball return. But it's not something that I can often practice on house shot with a remotely similar ball reaction. But now with Ambush I can practice playing deep inside on house, and see similar reaction to beaten up tournament conditions. I know I'm not going to use Ambush often on sport shot, but I'm happy to have it, because I know it'll be irreplaceable when the conditions are correct.

I'm still fairly new to bowling, my gamer is usually a Pride that I have to stand towards the middle for. Bought one of these and first league night was like playing a completely different sport. Once I moved left and trusted it, it was amazing! Almost too much for my home lanes, but across town they are notorious for super wet conditions, so the ambush is going to be great for over there.

I've always loved your videos and use them to research what layout I may want to put on a new ball. I've had a Jackal Ghost and, it's never worked for me. I even had it redrilled with a dual layout (the previous was stacked drilled) and, it still didn't work for me. I wound up giving mine away. That said, I got my Ambush on 1/16. I had it drilled with a 45x4.5x35 layout. I hadn't planned on rolling it during league however, the pro shop got it drilled before practice so, I got to use it a little. I was impressed at how it went through the oil and drove when it hit the friction. Based upon the shots in practice, I decided to try it during league. The first three games OTB, I posted a 598 series. I roll at 2 different houses so, I can't wait to see how it stacks up at the other house. I also play farther left than most bowlers on my league so, I was surprised that I could stay in it for the full session. In my honest opinion, Motiv may have struck gold with this one. My arsenal is mostly Black Widows and Jackals with a couple of Symmetrics thrown in for good measure. This ball will definitely be in my bag in Reno.

If you do not have a Ghost you are missing out!!!! I went from a 180 to 200 average when I got mine and I had 2 300 games last year with it. Now I did do a lot of other things to improve my game but thus far, it is the only ball I have rolled 300 with. I recently had a legacy given to me I guy hated, but I like it a lot too and I had it drilled a bit stronger than my Ghost. It seems to have a little more continuation so for now I am content with my arsenal. If anything I need to find my putter of the golf bag. I would love a dessert tank. I really wish they would bring back another low diff MCP. I have the Blue tank and I absolutely love it but it is more a medium oil ball and will even play in moderate to heavy oil. It really surprised me the most because I got it expecting it to be my putter or at best a wedge in my bag, if sticking to the golf terms. Instead it is a solid 5 iron and it knocked my UC2 out of my bag. I am not partial to any brand but my highest games and best series are with my motiv balls. My flight is another motiv ball I love. I would Love to see the predator 2 core in a MCP coverstock too. I really think the MCP cover stock is underrated.

I WISH I saw the kind of volume that makes the ghost useful again. I'm over here with a shiny ember as a bench mark with a carbide at 3k for a ball up. All the ambush is gonna do for me is find the left gutter. :/

Nice video, could you put 2k mor 3k on the Ambush to get more reaction out of it? The Ghost lane shine which becomes sketchy for me. imhave ro pu the Ghost at 2k to work for me.
