I have been watching you now for a month or so. You were one of the people I watched to confirm my decision to buy the Meteor. I used to ride a 750 Triumph in the 70's until I went into the Navy and spent 20 years. To make a long story short, I am soon to be 65 and didn't want to go to my grave and never ride again. Didn't want to spend a lot and thought about buying a used motorcycle until I came across the Royal Enfield. Started watching youtube to get reviews of this bike and I haven't seen anything that was negative. Most common comments in those videos were great bike for beginners and those old bikers getting back into motorcycling. Also, not really interested in going fast anymore. Just want to get on those back roads and enjoy the ride with my wife. Just took it in yesterday to get that 1st 300 mile service. I live here in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

I reckon that's a success. You made it to your destination, and back. You set up camp and enjoyed your coffee. The thing I love about you and your channel is that you ride the bike with expectations that don't exceed the design of the bike. You're not comparing this to a BMW 800GS or an old Suzuki GS100 for that matter. Royal Enfield really just make their bikes as they are. I don't think they compete, nor do they have any competition. Sure there are other bikes on the market you can compare to. Maybe better, maybe worse. But the thing that most RE riders know for sure is that they enjoy the ride. Isn't that what it's all about?

I've seen countless KZfaq videos on the Meteor now and not heard a bad word said about them, Royal Enfield have hit a home run with this bike, quality build at a bargain price, just goes to show you don't need 80+ bhp to have fun....

Thinking about replacing my old Kawa with a Meteor, propably doing a test ride next week. If I change bikes I will lose power, but nowadays I very seldom ride fast. For me it is about ride comfort, and being able to enjoy my surroundings. Bought my first bike in -74 and had this addiction all my life, nearly. Maybe it´s time to go slower? Only have room for one bike in the garage (fortunately) and that one would propably do me fine. Will try one and see how it feels. Thank you for the video, with a thumbs up.

That's what I kind of did. Went from Japanese inline 4's to a Classic 500 and my Sporty. I'm thinking of going to a Road King and selling the Sportster. Purely for more comfort, not so much the additional engine size. I'm slowing down my riding more and more. What was once a "get there as fast as possible" is now a "get there whenever we get there with a story to tell" A friend of mine a few years ago started riding and recently had an accident. He's recovering and lived to tell the tail. He said to me "I remember and understand what you mean now when you told me "Ride a little slower, and get home safe to ride again". He took off like a gun shot moments before I told him that. I added "I'd rather ride a thousand rides slowly than one last ride at blazing speeds". Of course, I didn't get that when I was his age either.

You can camp with anything if you put your mind to it. A couple of years ago I saw 2 guys on Honda C90's, with all there gear wrapped up in black bin liners bugee'd behind them, in the pouring rain on the NC500. The looked to be having more fun that the groups of GS/KTM adventurers that you seldomly ever see out travelling when it is wet.

I sat on a Meteor in a Dublin bike store recently - VERY nice. I hope to get my Himmy at long last later this week though. Passed my theory test and Initial Basic Training after waiting months to do the test and training due to COVID restrictions. I can’t wait…

Biggest bit of advice I can give you. Everyone on the road is an idiot and out to get you. Adopt that approach to riding and you will never have an issue. You will love the himmi just run it in gently and the more you ride it, the better it will get. My latest wouldn't rev comfortably over 4509 untill it had 300 moles on it. Congrats on the purchase and here's to many miles of enjoyment

Ronin, im having himmi withdrawl symptoms. Put Iron Lady on the Meteor and you on the himmi and do a side by side road trip to another winery that's closed.

Very timely video for me. I am talking with the dealer about purchasing a Meteor 350 for the purpose of putting on the hitch carrier of my motorhome. Currently I use a Vstar 250, but it is a bit small for two up. Thank you for the video. A video of how you strap down your meteor on your hitch carrier would be nice. Again, thanks for putting out the video.

Loving your videos Ronin! Im trying to catch up on all of them as best I can. I’m a new rider and till a month ago I never heard of royal enfield, I did my research on them and was thoroughly impressed and picked up a interceptor 650. I was seriously considering a meteor but I live in west Texas and I’m a bigger dude like 6’3’ 270 and in the city I would be fine but outside of the city’s limits the speed limit goes to 75-80 depending on where you are. I think I would be straining that little one cylinder at those speeds. I think I might get a Himalayan later because the motocamping looks so much fun, and getting to here your take and views has been so helpful. Keep up the awesome work, Cheers!

Enjoyed your Moto-Camping video OMR! I've been riding my new Meteor and loving it more every day. It's got that really nice sound and torquey long stroke behavior that I appreciate so much. No other bike it's size offers that, at least that I know of. I see it as kind of the little Harley that Harley-Davidson should have made, but didn't and wouldn't! I really don't find it all that small though. It just has a smaller engine. I hope RE sells a ton of them. I think they hit a home run with this bike!

I was seriously thinking about getting a Meteor 350, until I found out it had a 32" seat. That's the same as the seat was on my Yamaha XT225 dual sport bike, which I had to sell because I could no longer get on it. Once on it I was fine, but I could not get my leg over the seat without standing on something. My Sportster 1200 has a 25.5" seat, my Vulcan 750 has a 26.5" seat, and my Rebel 250 has a 25" seat. I can still manage those just fine. The Rebel 250 will actually outrun the Meteor 350. I ride it on the highway at full throttle, and it will hold a GPS 75-80 mph on flat roads. It has no problem being ridden at full throttle for as long as you want. It's a short stroke twin with a 9500 rpm redline. It's hard to believe that a street bike as small as the Meteor would have such a high seat.

Hello. i bought meteor350 two weeks ago. actually i was a bit worried about the brands which i never experienced. and i thought it was too cheap.. now i really really love it! i watched all of your videos and i was convinced again that i made a good choice. I camp with an older CB250, similar bike, HP and frame to the RE350... No problems. Tarp instead of tent. Bedroll A three part nylon saddle bag on the pillion (Panniers connected to a top bag) Penny stove, cup, towel, two plastic sheets, toiletries bag, shorts, t-shirt, sweater and $5 water shoes (small) to switch to, food, boiler can and liquids in two ammo can panniers i bolted onto the bike side. 380+mi range on gas tank Light enough bike to go about anywhere.

Nice video as always. Royal Enfield will start selling the Classic 350 again. I have tested the Meteor and loved it, but maybe I buy the Classic 350. It will come in a lot of different collors. Iam a big fan of classic bikes. A classic 350 in kaki/sand collor would be very cool I think :) Keep up the good work. Great videos you make. Cheers from Norway :)

They be nice little bike for in town or country roads. I had Honda 350 sort of converted to dual sport, motocross bars and Enduro rear tire and I take it down trails we had for dirt bikes, it get bit squireely in the turns in loose dirt and gravel having a street tire on it lol

Great and interesting video again, like I said before I am now wondering if the Meteor would be a better bike for me than the Himalayan, I love riding on small back roads, a gravel road once in a while, so I think the Meteor will suit me better, the importer of Royal Enfield for my country is not so far away, I will ask for a test of both so I can experience it for myself.

Really enjoyed this video… I am really undecided about whether to get one or not! I am over in the UK and for some reason people don’t rave about them! However, I think it would suit me well … I don’t want a sports bike or intact a bike over 500cc … I want a fun bike to do a bit of touring when exploring a new area and a bike that will attach to the rear of my camper van… I think you may have pursuaded me! Trust me when I say that it can do way more off road than that! It can be taken over rocky streams and deserts 🏜. The only difference is that it will not look so clean 🧼 spec less and shiny ✨ as your bike 🏍….😁😁😁 I just wondered how could you reach there and still keep it so clean!🤔🧐

Well I could do that, But I wanted to show you one of the Ultra-Light Moto-Camping methods I use from "backpacking/bicycle" camping kit. We used to do a LOT of bicycle camping on mountain bikes.

Well then you should have zero issues. Basically I was checking for clearance and handling and it can handle even harsher roads

i am from India I have a meteor and let me inform u this bike has been off roads and been to Leh and Ladakh highest motorable roads , it goes any where, where other bikes suffered due to less air this bike out performed , u cant compare it to the Himalayan bike however a good rider can take this bike off roads without any problems.

As far as the mic, I use a purple panda its listed in description all I do is tuck in under the cheek pad, nothing special

Trangia only has 3 sides. Great stoves. I have a couple and can use fuel or gas.

I just test drove a meteor, only bad thing for me was my feet aren't flat on the ground. ;( I am 5'5 if i stretch.

I bought one on the 28 of August. I am 5'4" and don't have any problems. I can't put my feet flat on the ground either but I make it work. Loving the bike. Used to ride a 750 Triumph back in the 70's and didn't want to go to my grave without riding again. So I bought this and it's a blast for this 64 soon to be 65 y/o.
