Currently own a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT 1000 cc that I have had for 20 years. Once took me 120 miles on one cylinder at highway speed when one spark plug wire crapped out on a Sunday morning with no shops open. At almost 70 years old it has gotten too heavy to maneuver in and out of situations. Purchased a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone at more than 100 pounds less wet weight. Absolutely love it. Will stay with Moto Guzzi for the rest of my riding life. I have owned BMW, Laverda, Ducati, Moto Morini, Triumph, BSA, Zundapp, Indian, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Cagiva and loved them all for different reasons, but the fact that I can physically handle the weight of a bike that will cruise (illegally) at 85-90 mph for as long as I need, looks good, is reliable and affordable and unique, why shop anywhere else?- -Mike Battle

Yes, a Moto Guzzi brings you home. In town I use the V50/65, with 168 kg wet weight she is easy to handle and fast. If I go on a cruise I use the 1000 SP or the BMW. And yes, I will keep them for as long as I can ride. They are easy to maintain. I need no external help to maintain and repair them.

Great video . I am in the process of rebuilding a 79 SP . I was getting pissed off with it and losing motivation . Your video , kicked me into life again and back on the job . Thanks . Enjoy your bike .

Glad to see that was just the camera coming off towards the end and not the bike sliding out!

Great video, I have a 1981 1000SP cafe racer sitting in the garage with a damaged clutch. Had not ridden it for 4 yrs where I enjoyed my Monster 1000, now I got the motivation back to restore the old goose 😎

Nice video. Glad to see that the Guzzi has the same screwed up shift return spring as the 2 that I broke in different BMWs that I've owned in the past. $1000 but to fix a dollar fifty spring. Great design. No I can look forward to the one in my 79 G5 breaking. Nice.

I’ve owned a 1200 sport Guzzi in the past but now I’m looking for a Spada or T3. I think the older 2 valve engines have a charm and sound that the modern ones have lost.

Indeed 2 valves are enough to get a nice feed back from the engine. But it is fun to drive a Daytona every now and then 🤭 isn´t it?

Good sound track, music and Guzzi. How did you find wiring the Motogadget ?
@neophobiagarage1845
@neophobiagarage1845 2 жыл бұрын
thank you, in principle the wiring is easy if you stick to scheme A of the manual. The sensor of the speedo deviates a lot in comparison to the MG speedo. The first 2000 km all went nice, but when I changed "from lights on at Ignition" to "lights on by pressing the button", some problems occured. Need to fix it. Perhaps go back to lights on at ignition.

great soundtrack... nice bike too. mine's a recently (2 years ag) rebuilt 1981 SP1 that I've owned almost since new. sooooo rideable... but don't you miss the fairing? makes it super-comfy on the highway
@neophobiagarage1845
@neophobiagarage1845 Жыл бұрын
dear Peter, thanks for you comment. I hardly ever ride on the highway, I love the wind in my face. The SP I fairing was a bit to low for me, I would have had to change it. Thus I decided to skip it. I still have it. Just in case 🙂 keep on ridin, all the best from Germany.
