This is not a safety video for street riding. It is about the sport of moto-gymkhana and technique to go as quickly as possible in full-lock turns to improve your times on a cone course. . . .
Beginners often find it difficult to turn in a radius small enough to stay inside a circle as small as the one in this video (dia. = 6 meters). Depending on the bike’s wheelbase and steering angle, the amount of lean angle required may seem daunting at low speed. A little bit of throttle will provide enough speed to keep the bike from falling over while you put the bike into enough lean to stay in the circle. Rear brake modulation throughout the turn mitigates over-throttling while also squatting the bike, which further adds stability.
