World Champion MotoGP rider Marc Márquez is used to testing himself and his Repsol Honda RC213V machine to the limit. With the help of Austrian ice speedway legend Franky Zorn - who fitted his RC213V with special tyre spikes - the triple MotoGP title holder became the first man to go up Austria’s Kitzbühel Alps on a MotoGP machine.

becos maybe there are hardly cool scenes. i drove a bike on a sandy part, almost like a beach, and hell..that was unpleasant and nightmarish. the way i see how the bike is tumbling, i could say it is almost a similar experience.

I haven't watched him drive the bike yet but it's not really the snow or the hills I'd be worried about but the flat light. So hard to distinguish anything when the sun is not out.

You know, we invented snowmobiles a LONG time ago. That said, in my youth in the 70s, I did that exact same thing with just screws, bolts and a drill to a Yamaha 125MX, and raced some of the early-model snowmobiles on a frozen lake. I was a LOT faster than they were. (I even figured out the extra inner-tube liner to prevent punctures)

Great concept, for me completely lost in all the fancy angles and editing. For all the effort put in to the event, this could have been so much more. Not your finest effort but a bit of fun anyway. :-)

Would've been a much more impressive video if it were on a frozen lake. You know, real ice. They have plenty of those in Scandinavia, he could've actually have shown his skills, the bike's potential, and surely Red Bull would've gotten all the exposure they wanted with their budget.

That would be cool. We use to drive cars on frozen lake Saimaa. In Finland we have 168000 lake and almost all of them are frozen in winter.

BMW goes for the frozen lakes in Finnland every year, nothing special. For cars and bikes, there was a time when u could win a Partizipation. Riding Up a Ski track like here is more uncommon.

its not just a hill is it? Its a ski slope, covered in snow. Did you even see the making of video? It shows you how steep the hill actually is.

It is just a hill. Yes it has snow on it, but that's nothing compared to a lot of other hill climbs on the channel. This is child's play compared to riding up a much steeper hill covered in mud and rocks in hard enduro racing or jumping off of practical cliffs while skiing down a mountain. The video might be a bit better if the editing had been at least decent, but it wasn't, for a youtube channel such as redbull, the editing was horrendous. It made flying up a hill on a motogp bike look boring. (even though it's not difficult in comparison to other videos, It should still be fun to watch.) So yeah, it's a ski slope, yeah it's covered in snow, no that's not more challenging or interesting as most of their other videos, and no it just wasn't a good video.
