S1000RR Gets BrenTuning Stage 1! | BrenTuning Tutorial | Motomillion

We've got a BMW S1000RR coming in for the BrenTuning Stage 1!
This S1000RR has the SC Project slip-on, and to complete it's setup, we will be using BrenTuning's Stage 1 tune. We recommend everyone, even stock S1000RR's go out and get this tune, as you'll see a significant difference in performance. These bikes come with restrictions from factory, and the Stage 1 tune will completely open the bike up, transforming it.

Just a question, the newer euro 5 sf v4 is supposed to have torque come earlier by 2000rpms, will flashing an older sf v4 have the same benefits? Thanks

How are your quickshifts up? I got the stage 2 installed and my upshifts are extremely jerky. Like the ecu is blipping the throttle too much. It doesn't matter what gear Im in, or what rpm Im at, or how little throttle Im inputting, it jerks me back everytime I use the quickshifter. The downshifts are butter but the upshifts are almost unbearable. Just wondering if there is a problem with my tune.

I really appreciate this video! I can always read the directions, but I notice that 99% of the time there are at least one or more typos, bad translations, skipped steps, copy/paste from wrong models, special steps not covered etc. Nothing beats seeing a step by step tutorial of how to do it.

helpful video, thanks! what’s the difference between the ecu flash and the limiter removal that bmw does at the first service? I can’t seem to find that anywhere

Hi Noah, it is completely different things, the RPM limiter is there for the break in period, and that is the only restriction that is removed when the first service is done. There are further restrictions in the system than the rpm restriction that is there for the life of the bike until it gets flashed with the Brentuning flash. We are happy to report that Brentuning flashes are 50 state emissions compliant as well.

Great Vid, thanks. I’m in the process of BrenTuning my new M1000r. I noticed there was no option for the single r on the handheld. Options were S1000r and M1000rr. I picked the S1000r, is that the correct choice?

I have a 2022 S1000RR, I decat my exhaust and have a lot of trouble with that, the bike don't like decat exhaust systems en put the engine light and goes in security mode, I didn't find any tuner that can access the ECU, 2022 are blcked for flashing with like Woolich etc... is the Brentunig Stage 1 will make my bike accepte the decat exhaust systems and can it be flashed even if it's a 2022 one with a 2022 ECU with all the BMW restrictions?

Brentuning would be your best bet for the BMW S1000RR. We deifnitely want to make sure it is a non road bike though since you have used a decat system.

I'm stumped. Updated device and software. Read the bike's ECU. Clicked on download, chose desktop as file destination, saw blue progress bar then got an error unable to read license. Uugghh

I can't get mine to upload my tube from Brentuning. I tried to load and it keeps giving me a wrong chksum file. I told Brentuning, so they sent another tune and it still does the same code for the new tune. Is there something I'm not doing? I've followed the steps exactly

So the only way to flash your bike is to buy this handheld device to use once and do it yourself ? That doesn’t sound right. Is the device only good for one use? If not there has to be tons of them floating around for someone to do for you.

The device is made by a third party company and they get locked to each VIN number. You can not use it on multiple vehicles.

If they have Brentuning for your bike, get Brentuning as they are very popular and everyone seems to love them. So far I haven't had any issues with their tune and it does make difference.

Yes it matters, if you watch the video, you see it prompts you to do ignition on and ignition off at various stages and you need to follow the prompts.

Yes, especially for the S1000RR. BMW really restricts these bikes from factory, so a Stage 1 BrenTuning flash will open up the bike and you will really feel a difference!

Just reverse the procedure on the handheld. Stock map gets stored in the handheld.

will this work on 2022 model !!! I just got waxed by a 2020 zx10 on a stock s1000rr this bike is a dissapointment compared to my 2016 s1000rr and my H2 !!

Each bike needs it own as they get locked to the VIN of the vehicle used.

@@Motomillion ok thank you so much. It does seem a bit of a waste to have two identical pieces of Obd hardware in one house with two identical bikes in it. I think Brentune would be good if they could offer a discount for reusing a unit on a second bike. Is the unit really tied to that one machine for ever, even if you sell that bike ?

@@King-Arthur-The-First Yes, it's how a lot of tuners work. I had the same thing with my Mustang. The device can be "reset" and unlocked from a VIN but there's usually a charge to do that. And then you'd still have to pay for another tune that's locked to your VIN. On the positive side, this avoids the wrong files being written to the wrong bikes. It's very important that the tune files write to the correct areas for your particular VIN bike.

@@Anonymous-jj9yu So the performance of the BMW is top class, but the quality is more than bad, recalls are ongoing. I wouldn't do the tuning, I had to do it myself because there is no workshop for it here in Germany and the tuning is not officially sold here either and I had to import it. as I said it brings no more value or the same. I would let it be, the bike is good and better without the tuning.

The BrenTuning device gets locked to a VIN, so it can only be used with one bike once it has been paired.

The errors only pop up during flashing, that is the way it works, even if the dealer is updating the system it gives those errors. Once flashed there should be no errors, given the bike was and is in good working condition.

Please help. Bought the device but just how reliable is Brent tune? I commute on the bike Monday-Friday and on Sundays ride the canyons. Put about 8-12k per year on the bike. Just want to tune to get rid of the flat spots and want to hold onto reliability as much as possible
