At the end of the last boating season, my 6.5 hp Hangkai 4-stroke motor started flooding. I took it out of use after the second time if flooding and switched the motor with the 6 hp 2 Stroke motor off my dinghy. I was not able to get a Hangkai carburetor online. I purchased a 6 hp trusty Yamaha carburetor that was supposed to be an exact fit, however when it came time to install, it did not fit. Since I was passed the return date, I decided to make some adjustment to the choke valve and capped off the fuel outlet. Although these mods worked out for me, I would recommend purchasing an exact replacement for your carburetor according to your manufacturer.
Disclaimer: This is Not a DYI. It is simply what worked for me in a pinch. Do not try this at home. Have a mechanic look over your motor.

Good job I starting in boats I bought a dinghy saturn 10’ I need help to decide between hangkai 6.5 and tohatsu 6hp For 1 or 2 people onboard Only cons is tohatsu is to expensive for my budget Help will be appreciated

Tohatsu is a better quality motor. My budget was also why I went the lesser priced one… I bought mine on Amazon. It’s 2 years old and needs to be repainted. I use it in salt water and tilt of out of the water but the paint quality is just not durable… kind of sacrificing quality over cost. Hope this helps

The motor did come with a replacement. So that is a plus. Only think is the pick up is not great. So more water above the cavitation plate was needed in the bucket.

I saw the same thing I have the same motor it supposed to spit water out constantly

Yes. This one is a 4 stroke… I have the Hangkai 6hp 2 stroke also.

I’m considering getting this but I'm trying to figure out what motor it is a clone of so i can get parts if needed…. it sounds like its yamaha…

@@bossfishsd3769 I think it’s a clone of Tohatsu outboards. When I searched for replacement carbs the Yamaha came up as one but as you can see it was not an exact fit.

He said, “There is no cooling of the motor! where is the water jet???????, you can’t use the motor like that!!!!!!” Thank you. The water level in the bucket needed to be a little higher for the jet intake. No worries she didn’t run long in the garage and has been running fine all season.
