If you are looking for a compact SUV on a budget, the obvious choices are the Nissan Magnite and the Reanult Kiger. Not only are they practical for the family, but they also pack quite a punch for the price. Now, however, Tata has a new proposition. Yes, it is slightly smaller but has urban SUV potential, a decent feature list and is value for money as well. We decided to get all the three together to figure out if there is a hidden compromise in buying the Punch, or do the Magnite or Kiger still make more sense for an urban family.

It has to do with the brand and Tata is a big brand in India with a lot of service centers although the after sales service is really really poor. Renault and Magnite only lag behind because of their lack of service centers and lack of different products. Company needs to do more.

My tata punch gives 19 to 22 KM/L mileage on highways and near to 15 KM/L in city driving, all without Eco mode and AC on, because I feel City mode is better in tata punch and even gives more mileage as compared to eco mode it may sound stupid but I tested it.

Actually suspension is good in magnite and kiger although I found punch to better overall. Non turbo of magnite and kiger are not great.

Renault's Kiger is a good car overall, but only one thing to point out.. that's mainly a design problem... it feels really claustrophobic at the back.... At least a sunroof would have solved the problem.

i am also punch owner,but lookwise and dimensionwise magnite look good.due less service stationi quit magnite and went for punch accomplish with dazzle pack .road presence is good with tropical mist colour.

@@Blitzkers99 venue is 2lac costlier.. even with NA petrol version.. when my dazzle pack cost 8.5lac, venue goes to 10.5lac onroad, with way less features and NA engine of venue literally sucks bro.. if haven't tried one.. u must.. i hv driven it quite a lot..

Nissan service center are bit rare in many areas. I paid full amount and did wait for 10 days to complete paper work . So you find lethargic people at some dealers and people go for other brands. It is a reality.

kiger front is way better than other if u don’t compare it with kwid. If u do then, Magnite front is also same as DATSUN GO. Kwid is easily found on roads and Datsun cars are not that is reason people comparing with kwid.

Kiger ✨ is really a tiger✨ no doubt the turbo engine of kiger perform more then sufficient power👍 have best in segment boot space even more then ecosports, nexon, breeza etc best in segment ground clearance 205 mm , have very decent cabin space even more then its competitors like nexon, venue, breeza, xuv300 etc & if i talk about the looks of kiger🫡 hats of to reno.... Its amazing & kiger provide maximum features like keyless entry, 8 inches touch screen, tyre pressure monitoring, cooled glove box, rear ac winds & rear hand rest which is countable in luxurious accessories 🫡 & if we talk about safety provide by reno which is also very impressive because kiger get 4⭐ rating in global ncap crash test ✨ so... We can say its a safe car also.... & Reno provide 4 airbags in kiger so... We can say kiger is really value for money & very decent product of Renault ✨ so... Everyone should go for this beast also.... In this segment this is the only compact suv which provide alot of things according to its price segment 🫡

@@saraswatrahul73what about rattling noise maintenance and Vibration issues even in the turbo version and it's overpriced sorry for 3 cylinder car and it's infotainment sucks sorry bro my friend have Kiger 2 nd top model it's 1 year old it's infotainment lcd is laggu it sometimes got stuck and you have to literally sometime restart car there is issue in its reverse gear.

I picked Kiger RXT over Magnite XV executive. Overall, driving dynamics and space management was better in Kiger in my opinion. Renault has better service as compared to Nissan. Better inventory management as well with Renault.

Both are underpowerd but Magnite is insanely underpowerd. Kiger makes lot of noise in hills but somehow manages to climb but Magnite suffers way too much, it shuts down in 2 nd gear.

@@Blitzkers99 no bro - I have magnite non turbo and I have faced no issues in hills. Its not at all underpowered. If you visit hills, you will find many magnites. Just to add - maruti 800, Alto runs pretty well with 5 people in hills and their engine power is way less than magnite. After driving magnite, somehow I realized that a 1000cc engine with 71bhp power is enough for everything. Other companies are selling heavy engines and costing high from us, which is not required. First time , a company called Nissan did excellent survey, understood the needs of buyers and launched this fit for family best in class SUV

I've drived all hilly I.e in complex ghat sections with fully loaded with 5 adults heavy luggage rided most complex ghat road but never feel under power

My punch gives 12-14 in city.. While more than 20 easily in highway if u can drive in 80-100kmph.. above 100 mileage drops to 18kmph. Ps- all of these are with ac onn..

Service center plays a major role...i have seen who didn't opt for magnite because of no service center...hers in arunachal pradesh...nissan has just one Service center and because of this many people didn't buy magnite although they liked the car...

I'm using punch it's very good car .only intial pickup is low once you got its a rocket . getting around 20 kmpl .top speed 174 . Some door lock issues and intial pickup issue rest is best in price segment

As per I know Tata is known for safety, so it’s my humble request to Tata company, Please add rear defogger or at least wiper from base model to your all cars, it’s very important feature and I think you have to add it.

Punch feel underpower..so kiger non turbo is worst... turbo engine is good.. paying 10 lakh for a 1000 cc non turbo engine is not a good choice...

You are comparing 2 beefed up HATCHBACKS with Basic 1990 dandiwala door locks 1.0 Engine Kiger-Magnite against 1.2 SUV or Mini Harrier looks wala PUNCH. Incase if Tata offers 1.2TC & CNG it would become A Killer Combo. Weak link of Magnite-Kiger is the 3 Cylinder 1.0 Petrol Engine. Cars like Hyundai Nios, Maruti IGNIS, Swift, Wagon R are offered with 4-Cylinders K Series 1.2 Petrol engines. Way superior as far as Refinements & Responsiveness is Concern. Customer who are interested in buying Affordable & Spacious Hatchback or Base variants of Sub 4 Mts SUV interested in City Commuting are the only prospective customers of Kiger-Magnite. The way competition is shaping for future I don't think Magnite-Kiger will survive for long because of fewer Showrooms & Poor Service Stn Network. Heart of any Car is Engine & Good hospitals are After-Sales. Both the above is the weakest in the Magnite-Kiger in the segment. Like present declining Sales nos of Triber, by the end of 1st Quarter of 2023 the Sales of Magnite-Kiger will start declining for sure. Unless Renault-Nissan offers better Engine & Premium Interiors especially replacement of dandiwala door locks.

Don’t know why peoples try to convince us for magnite or kiger but when I talk to real users of these 2 cars, they always found crying after 2 years of running that we are now feeling like a Tata magic type driving experience…..don’t be confused and blindly go with Tata punch actually a perfect car
