Hello KZfaq community! After a long hiatus from this platform, I’m excited to share the story of my recent motorcycle camping adventure in killer whale territory.
Join me as I ride my Honda CB500X to Malcolm Island and Alert Bay, BC on a quest to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing orcas in the wild.
A big shoutout to my sponsor, ewool, for keeping me warm on this trip with my heated vest and helping to make this content possible. Check out ewool.com for the best heated gear out there. 🔥

I enjoyed your motorcycle travel vlog! One point, the school was run by the Anglican Church of Canada, according to wikipedia (not the Catholic church) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Michael%27s_Indian_Residential_School_(Alert_Bay)

Take care.

I once saw a pod of Orca's on Cook's inlet in Alaska. Heading toward the sea, I first stumbled across the nesting area of many bald eagles, screeching at me to stay away. I continued walking through the woods to the shore where I then came apon a pod of orcas, just sitting there and about a rock's throw off the shore. Well, I was in awe to say the least. You will one day see them, be patient, take care, enjoyed the video and travel safe....

Hi Megan, nice to see you back.... I too have a CB500x, which I really like. Actually I like it even more after I replaced the stock 15 tooth front sprocket with a 16 tooth rubber centered front sprocket. I installed a JT Sprockets, P/N JTF1381.16RB. Easy job, no need to change the chain. A GREAT Modification. All the Best & Merry Christmas from Vancouver Island!

I enjoyed the video - as a retired boat captain (the last 8 years or so driving whale watch boats out of the San Juan Islands), I'd suggest you book a trip on one of the whale watch boats out of Victoria or Vancouver - the boat operators there belong to the Pacific Whale Watch Association and share info on where to find the whales with other commercial operators. Seeing the Orcas is never a guarantee, but you'll have a much better chance to see them on a boat (where the captain knows where to find them). I got to see them most days - what a wonderful experience to see them in their natural habitat. Thanks for sharing your video!
