Chain tension
Not only should the chain be cleaned and lubricated, it should also be checked for proper tension. The chain is damaging to the great tension that, in addition to the chain itself, damages the chain wheels and bearings. A chain that is too loose will risk slipping and falling. Deflection is measured at the bottom of the chain, roughly midway between the two sprockets. The value should be within the range specified by your motorcycle manufacturer. Place the motorcycle on the stand (whether side or centered by the manufacturer) and tension the chain on an unloaded motorcycle by turning both tensioner nuts evenly after loosening the rear wheel shaft nut. We check the parallelism of the wheels by means of the markings on the pendulum, or measure the distance of the wheel shaft from the end of the pendulum. After tightening the rear wheel shaft, check the deflection again.
Proper capture, run-in chain
Few people suspect that the chain, like virtually all moving parts, has to run well to function well. If you mount a new chain and full of vigor just as you leave the service, you will give a sprint from the intersection or a demonstration wheelie, so you just threw the money out of the window for the chain.
The chain is made up of more than a hundred joints, each of which is composed, as we have said, of a pin, a sleeve, and a roller. There is some clearance between these components to allow the chain to chain at all, and these components have a roughly circular profile. Why roughly? For perfection exists only in fairy tales and you will not even achieve the very best circular technology with the best technology.
The joint is thus made up of components that are very "shishoid" in profile (in addition, the sleeve may be slightly deformed after pressing the plates), and these must be "settled" properly. Therefore, it is ideal to mount the chain, leave the rear wheel on the rack and then set off very slowly. This does not mean the speed of the cochlea, but the first roughly one hundred kilometers to avoid sudden acceleration and heavy braking and gradually increase the load gradually. That way, all the clearances are fixed evenly, the chain is pulled out regularly, you finish it and you have the peace ("every new chain is pulled out"; how many times the chains are pulled out in the factory). Be aware that such a chain measures about 1.5 meters and that the power is transmitted only by the upper chain of the chain, which measures about half a meter - if you add gas rapidly, the load on the chain will stretch and you will not be able to impress the rest of your life anyway. articles. As a result, it will result in an irregular pulling out of the old chain - and you did not have to install a new one.
How can I tell if a chain is ripe for replacement without using a scoop or dipstick? Grasp the chain on the rosette and pull it away from the rosette. The new chain should sit so that it does not move at all. The older chain should not be able to move more than one third of the rosette tooth. Irregular chain pulling we find out that we put the motorcycle on the central stand or jack and try the slack of the chain in about half of the pendulum, turn it around approx. 15cm. and check the slack chain again. This is how we check the entire length of the chain. Poud is a chain correctly, regularly pulled out should the chain sag always be the same. Believe how you find an irregularly pulled chain, go to your chain service to check your chain set.
If the chain extension is exceeded, there is a risk of significant damage to the components of the gears, the price of which is much higher than the price of the chain.

Ahoj, neměla by se ta vůle řetězu meřit když je motorka bez zatížení na kolech? Aspoň tak mě to říkali v servisu.

Ano přesně tak to je. Já ve videu nevysvětluji jak napnout řetěz, ale jak poznat vadný.

Ahoj, mám bmw f650gs a řetěz je zbrouseny zevnitř rozety na venkovní straně řetězu. Nevěděl by jsi co by to mohlo zapříčinit?
