Does tyre height matter? Got an IRC tube that says 110/100-18M, 130/80-18M, 140/80-18M, 4.00/ 4.50-18M, 4.60/5.10-18M. My tire size is 120/80-18. Does the tube fit? If I only look at inches it should fit but the width/height combination is not mentioned. How important is tyre height when choosing a tube? I love inch specs because they don't mention the tyre height, but I am a little bit unsure if this fits and is safe because it's my first tyre change that I'll do by myself (tubes are very old so I will change replace).

You mentioned not to use the 3mm. thick ( heavy duty ) inner tube for high speed riding. What do you consider high speed and for what duration? I have been using 3mm. inner tube on my KTM 690 Enduro R. Mostly on gravel roads and majority on backroads. I live on east coast. Rarely do I do interstate or long days of highway riding. Top speed might be 65 mph for 1 hour. So fare using H/D inner tubes hasn't been issue. Thanks Great video. Kam

I never knew you are not supposed to use Heavy Duty with high speeds. I've been using them going around 110 MPH. If it wasn't meant for that I would expect a warning label on the box.

It's more about on-road heat build up, not necessarily speed although more speed equals more heat. I personally run Heavy Duty Tubes on my big Adventure bikes and I run them fast and on the road. I personally have never hand a problem. - Kyle

when i bought m my motorcycle the dealer gave me two extra tubes. how do I know which one is the front tube and which one is the back one?

Thank you for your inquiry John. The tube size should be stamped on the tube. If not, lay them out and measure the inside diameter. That will correspond with your rim size. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

Chaparral Motorsports thank you. Do tubes expire? I’ve had these tubes in storage for five years. I also noticed that one of them is missing a metal lip that goes over the valve and under the rim where can I get replacement? One of Tubes has an actual nut screwed on the valve, why is that there?

Make sure your tires are in good shape/condition before each ride. Look for cracking or damage to the sidewalls. Ensure your tires are properly inflated and do not overload your bike with more weight than what's recommended on your sidewall. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

My Kenda dirt bike tube has a shaped washer and two nuts, I assume the two nuts lock together on the outside of the rim but does the washer go on the inside of the rim or outside?

You said “look at the sidewall of your tube to see what size it fits”. My question is; is the tube size the same size as the tire? Like if I have a 170/80-18 tire do I get the same size tube, a smaller tube, or what? I don’t wanna take the tube out to find out.

Just read the other comments sorry. I guess it’s the same size as the tire. I had read on some forums people were getting tubes a little smaller than the tire itself which confused me. It’s amazing how hard it was to find the answer to that question on the internet lol.

will 4mm thick tube be ok for speeds up to max 65 miles?

No Heavy Duty tube is rated for speed. That being said, that is the only tube I will run in my 950 Super Enduro which I run on the highway at speeds 100+ mph. I personally have never had an issue... But others have. I would say that 65 mph would be totally acceptable for most HD tubes. NOTE* These Ocelot tubes are rated for Off Road Use Only. -- Kyle

Anybody ...i have an after market "Ultima" fat spoke rim on my Harley.it loses air everyday from bottom of valve stem. Valve stem just slightly off center ..does anybody make inner tubes for this? Or, what can i do?

So I have to take my tire completely off just to see what size tube I need? Is there another way I can determine the size without taking it out completely? My tube has a very small leak and I really don't wanna take it off until I have another tube to put on it. I will if I have to though.

Hello Andrew, the tube size is printed on the tube. You're going to have to replace it anyways so you might as well pull the tube so you know what size to get. But if you really don't want to do that. do a search for motorcycle tube size chart and you'll see what tube will work with your tire.

Hello, check the sidewall of your motorcycle tire it should give you an idea of the tube to use. Otherwise you should probably be looking for a 3.25-17 tube.

I'm here because i just received a Warp9 wheel assembly that is 19 x 2.15" It has two valve stem holes, 180 degrees apart or directly across from each other on the rim, in the center of the rim. I would like a metal valve stem that can be locked down with a nut, and have a 90 degree elbow for ease of adjusting pressure. Is the PV78 an 8mm diameter? or do i need the TR-87? and what do I do about the other hole that is not being used? I believe if the wheel was mounted at the rear that is where a rim lock would go, which I won't be using in the front. I feel like the tube will bulge slightly through the hole and cause problems. Any help is appreciated.

The two valve stem holes - one is for the valve stem and the other is for the Rim Lock. You can use any valve stem that suits your needs.

Does tube wear? and if so, do you suggest changing them proactively? Any guideline? (#yr, Km? Every x tire change out?)

The tubes should be changed whenever you change/install new tires or when the the tube gets a hole.

@@chaparralmotorsports sorry .. That wasnt very clear at all . I was thinking about the AX41 tires for my tiger 800xc . is there a better all around set of 50/50 tires in your opinion
