Always best to listen to that little voice in your head, that happened to us once we were walked down the road to a dirty hotel, we smiled and walked back and demanded our room. Turned out they had over booked and were trying to con people to move to another hotel to save their skin. You survived another experience and lived to ride another day, good result all round 👍

The airbnb looks way cool. I know France can be dodgy. In 1982 I was held at knife-point on the banks of the Seine (knife to my throat from behind) and in 1984 in Andorra - almost France - I snuck down to reception and recovered my passport to escspe an ad hoc roomshare with 2 armed Algerians and an English guy who didn't speak French and whom I couldn't warn, given what I'd heard. My degree is in French and Spanish and so nothing escapes me. It was freezing overnight but better than being knifed.

Allways go with your gut every time, if you cant follow your gut, photos of where you are Etc and email them to someone and make sure where you are know what you have done, I used to tell my daughter to photo a cabs number plate and text it, just as a safe gaurd. stay safe xx
