I got a 2016 Tuono V4 for the simple fact I wanted a V4 standard but at a cheaper price. Man did I ever feel like I hit the mark. 5K on the miles and man this bike just keeps asking for more, I feel like it is the best bang for buck in the more affordable V4 group. You never feel out dated if you get a Italian bike you can afford.

Haha I think all these bikes guzzle fuel. It's the last thing that would matter I think. Ducati's are just desirable bling to a lot of people. The brand itself probably has the same appeal like Ferrari or Lamborghini so it gets a little favouritism and it's flaws get overlooked. I admit I want one but honestly would be just as happy with my old reliable Ninja 400 even though it's a poodle compared to all the monsters on this video

@@PRSeryeah, sometimes I hate when people glaze over things for the brand name.. Becuase it's expensive and it's for fancy rich people, when ducati bikes are attainable unlike a ferrari or lamborghini, they're my 3rd favourite brand, but I can't deny people overlook ducatis flaws. Personally the street fighter V4s makes no sense, the v2 is lovely. But why not just get a panigale at this point? Oh and the price, I know ducatis are more expensive but does it have to be almost twice 😂. Come on, it's overkill, I know the base v4 exists but even that is way more expensive than the aprillia whcih sounds better. They really shouldn't have made it have 200 horsepower, it's a street bike. The zh2 is heavy, and it has a supercharger, if say it's the coolest here. But that aprillia.. Absolute nutter.

I'm following this test from Germany. I have owned a 1200 RS myself for 3 months now. Wow. Obviously you have a completely different Triumph motorcycle overseas? Have some horsepower been sunk in the sea during the shipping? What other regulations do you have in addition to the indicators from Disneyland? I really don't want to put the ST on the throne, but so far behind and "not outstanding"? Funny: BMW is at the forefront of all testers in Europe because this bike obviously offers the best overall package for country roads. In this test there are 2 bikes ahead that cannot use their nominal performance advantages on country roads ... By the way, I also think that the Ducati and Aprilia are absolutely top bikes, but this test result is a bit weird .. .. Everyone stay healthy.

It depends what you expect for power. They use dyno numbers which is power at the tire so it’s going to be lower than advertised. Also overseas you have nm for torque numbers which are almost double than the sae numbers we use here. The 1200 rs for the street what I’ve heard is the way the power is distributed it’s not road friendly because it’s more like a sport bike. It doesn’t like being lugged around at low rpm. It needs to be ridden hard to enjoy it. Me personally if I was to get one of these it would be the Triumph or KTM. But for where I live the 900 class is more enjoyable. All that’s here is congested highways with potholes everywhere and tight twisty roads where you’re stuck in 3rd gear. I’ve never been out west where they are so I’m not sure what the roads are like.

The only thing with the 1250 RS for me is that I'm 6'4 and too much strain on my wrists so a 1250R or the S1000XR would be my upgrade choice... but I love the boxer engine and that torque... it has no match on the low end of the rev range... keep safe
@kenwolfe56972 жыл бұрын
I’m with you. Seems like a lot of reviewers look for unrefined and raw feeling engines whereas the Triumph is more refined and user friendly. This results in a bike that’s easier to ride fast without having to rely on all the computer aides all the time. No one can deny the Triumph is a lot of bike and I personally would put it much higher on the list. I also think it’s the best looking of the lot. My thoughts at least 🇺🇸

GREAT review. My 2021 SF, with Full AKRA and MAP is my everyday transportation even in the rain. 9,000 miles in 10 months. Being Dark stealth, it does not look aggressive, basically a sleeper. With the rear cylinders deactivating @ an idle when warm, pretty quiet when stooped in traffic or a light. Every 80-90 miles have too stop for 3 gal of fuel. No cruse, or fuel gauge not a problem for me. The counter rotating crank helps in the wheelie dept. Above 150, Hang on for dear life, the wind wants too separate you from the bike. Handling incredible, especially at the track. Curious what you guys think. JUST dynoed 207 rear wheel. They had too re strap the rear wheel two times, IT did make a difference in the H.P. It is certain that these testers are all very experienced and very good drivers. But it is precisely for this reason that I do not understand some of the comments that "disqualify" the ST for country roads. I only drive them on country roads and try not to stroll. For me, the bike works excellently in a wide range of revs. Sure, some testers found the suspension to be too tight, but: the Oehlins components are fully adjustable and of the very best variety. Sometimes I have the impression that the testers are all top drivers, but as soon as they have to adjust a suspension it gets complicated ... I don't want to "complain" any further, maybe I'm just too vain because my beloved ST was so ignored :-)

@richardkillian5657 Жыл бұрын
What kind of difference do you feel when riding it flashed?
@DDRDK Жыл бұрын
@Richard Killian the ZH2 makes somthing like 40-60hp more flashed because kawasaki shits the throttle off at about 170-190hp at the top end so it is super restricted from the factory. I think they usually pull 200+ hp super easy on pump gas JUST from keep the throttle bodies from closing off on the top end. So really it's hard to watch these reviews when a lot of these bikes can be very different with modifications that 90% of people do to any of these bikes. I feel like it could change a lot of opinions if people knew that information.

C'mon guys.... I need to see the Indian FTR 1200 added to these tests. It's such a fun bike. Way more torque than most and 120ish hp. Easily bumped up with tune and pipe but still, this is a bike that belongs in the naked tests. It is one of the nicest looking bikes out there, has all the electronics, super torque engine. It doesn't need 13000 rpm to go fast. The Indian while being the new kid on the block somewhat deserves to be represented in these shootouts. I've ridden a lot of these and the Indian is right there... Naturally, it won't kill a H2 in a drag race but it is just such a nice bike, looks great, tons of torque and handles every bit as well as any bike in this test... Ducati vs the KTM for the street: Duc doesn’t have cruise control, fuel gauge, gets horrible gas mileage, gets hotter than KTM, have to rev it higher than KTM to get in the fun power band. The looks are subjective, I don’t like the headlight to instrument cluster gap and the beak looking headlight. Looking at the engine, I see a lot of wires, hoses and braces, not clean looking engine like KTM (which was designed to be a naked from ground up, not just take the fairings off). Of the two, for day to day street riding and living with it…for me KTM wins easily.

Tuono is #1. Best sound amongst competitors. Has cruise control, gas gauge and 5K less vs Streetfighter. KTM look and sound are very subjective. Rode Tuono Factory from Phoenix to LA, after 6 hours ride I felt fresh which quite questionable if it'd be Streetfighter.
@veteq1012 жыл бұрын
you would be even more fresh, the Streetfighter is more comfortable than the Tuono but a long shot. I own both.
@SA-qp8qf2 жыл бұрын
@@veteq101 I owned Tuono and rode Streetfighter for a long distance. It is a matter of fact, cruise control does work for your body when you rode 400 mile one way. But Streetfighter is smoother, no doubt.

All BMW needed to do was have the shift cam, and put a cool asymmetric headlight on it, and it would have been a contender. No excuse for leaving shift cam off. And the styling of the bike is cool, then they put last years generic GSXS headlight on it and total neuter the looks. The BMW is just like the Triumph, great bikes, but when you are trying to compete in this class, you have to swing for the fences.
@GIGABACHI2 жыл бұрын
+1 on the lack of ShiftCam. The more they spread it's use thru their products, the more they can amortize it's R&D costs.

Interesting about the dyno figures for speed when 165 on bikelife norge. Perhaps dyno calibration off which begs question if all tests off

Gobbled up the whole video and the web article - I feel spoiled! Thanks chaps! I would have liked to see the dyno charts start from a lower number though... 2,000 would be great! I found the 2020 Z-H2 a little bit "conventional inline-four" between 2-4000rpm before the boost spools up and you have me wondering if Kawaski has done something to address that. P.S. It would be awesome if you could navigate the review photos on your website with the keyboard cursor keys (or swipes for the young 'uns)

I doubt it got any better low down. Its got stricter emissions to meet and we all know how that goes for throttle response and fun. Its also difficult to get much more low down without gearing the supercharger to spin up faster and that would hold it back up top. I found adding two teeth to the rear sprocket livened it up no end. Even in the dead zone (relatively) it made it pick up much more urgently and got it to boost rpm much faster. It didn't make a massive difference to cruising rpm (~600ish more at 70mph) and you can hardly ever use the top speed anyway so for me that was a good trade off.

Shame you used the 2020 version of the Ducati Streetfighter S. The 2021 has the peak torque 2000rpm lower making for an even better engine. I've the 2021 Streetfighter and it's noticeably swifter than the 2020

Does it have lower hp? now that the peak torque come sooner
@kneesparks2 жыл бұрын
@@DontKnow-lz1vh the euro 5 2021 has the same peak torque at 9400 as opposed to the euro 4 at 11400. Its makes for an even faster bike. 😎

Such a frickin' cool review of big boy 'nakeds' guys....u'r all so laid back-having a gud time, but to the point! I'm a 'Streetfighter man' myself (just the standard version -2019 from Preston / Manchester Ducati dealership here in the UK (where in north-west we've got crap bumpy 'B'roads- full of pot holes we all pay road tax for in Lancashire. England). So naturally i'm going to be voting Ducati in this shoot-out, as rain or shine i get me thrills & a big ole grin on my freezin face- summer/ winter, rain or shine- S/F kicks arse & is a real crowd pleaser too. Occasionally I get a scowl, (as V4 so noisy as standard) in town, but mostly joy & admiration from 'joe public'.

Great review. Only gripe is that I wish they would have compared overall price and ranked them more with that in mind. There is almost a 14k difference between some of these bikes which is a whole second bike.

I love the streetfighter but no one mentions that for $25k it has no fuel gauge and its fuel consumption is terrible. Tuono is terrible for fuel consumption also and both bikes have heat problems. I just can't get past the KTM's looks even tho its a brilliant bike.

Love your reviews. These Halo bikes check all the right boxes. Halo bike tech eventually filters down their whole line. Truthfully, for the street, middle weight bikes are perfect, 110-150 horsepower. 200 horsepower plus bikes are like a 250 mph car. Why? Love my Super Duke snd MV AGusta 800 rr. No way can you use 80% of the potential of these bikes on the street especially on the twisted. Great job guys

While I haven't ridden all of these bikes, I've ridden a couple. They all seem to be solid bikes so it's all personal preference and what one can afford in the end. That being said, I'd like to add 2 more of these to my garage if I could.

@siraff44612 жыл бұрын
They flash a dyno chart at 17:39 so if you look at that and the bikes' weights you can get a decent idea of whats going to happen. I would say the KTM will clear off until about 9,000rpm then a gap down to the Z (heaviest but decent grunt), Triumph, Aprillia, Ducati then another gap to the BMW and MV. If it carried on the Z would come back past the KTM as speeds rise then the Ducati would come back past both but they would probably be on their speed limiters before the MV caught the KTM back up. Thats just thumb in the air but it won't be a million miles off.
