Lovely review; concise, clear and accurate. Thank you for providing one of the very few English language reviews. I've got one on order and after 25 motorbikes, I'm really excited about trying something genuinely different. I sat on the ADV at the NEC and you're right, it has genuine presence, is built very well and should be really usable and fun. Great value, too.

Probably the nicest scooter review ever of a big scooter by MCN, must be because your getting older and see what us maxi riders have said about how good they are for years but always mocked by bikers with geared bikes irrespective if we had a geared bike previously or have a scoot in the garage alongside a geared bike.

After test riding a bmw c400x, realised what i had been missing (a scooter) so ordered one of these off spec. This is the first uk review and looks like i made the right choice! The c400x is a great bike but £2k more for similar spec, little storage and a history of reliability issues. The adv 350 shares much with the forza which is bullet proof. Looking to ride it from uk to norway and really looking forward to it.

Motorcycles are better balanced due to not having the engine on the swinging arm. Fuel consumption is better with a manual than cv gearbox. Better access to do repairs and less plastics to get damaged in a spill. Larger front wheel for tackling potholes compared to most scooters. Centre tank gives feeling of security and being part of the bike rather than perched on it. Some scooters have miserably small fuel tanks

Really enjoy your reviews! They are completely relevant to the product - none of this: "it's too slow", "can't get your knee down" etc etc - it's a scooter (and probable commuter bike) and you said what potential buyers wanted to hear - economical, lots of storage, adjustable screen etc etc.

I have a 2011 Kymco People GT300i i bought in 2012. It was a demonstrater at the dealer with low mileage, it was about 450km/280mls. It now has nearly 25000km/19000mls on the mileometer. It had very little problems up until now. One broken luggage hook😉. What i really like about it is, when Car drivers think i have a measly 125cc scooter, but then i'm way faster than they expected. On the Autobahn it goes around 150 to 155km/h, about the same as the ADV350. What is a bit annoying is that the fuel light goes on, when there's more then three liters left of the nine that fits into the tank. For the viewers that where in the British Army and where stationed in Germany, I bought it from the Honda dealer in Paderborn.

I think in time manufacturers will realize the profit potential for bridging this gap in the market for quality scooters in North America. They're more approachable for beginner riders in an industry where new ridership is falling, in part due to younger people being intimidated by manual transmission bikes. The more I read about these Honda ADVs and the corresponding comments sections, the more hopeful I become that they will eventually be offered here in the US. And I for one def can't wait!

From years of really heavy stop & go traffic, including on highways. One thing I learned. Nimble and agile do make for the best rides on that condition. The medium size scooters (250~400) simply blast the competition on those conditions! I'm not kidding, waiting with your "small" 250/400 scooter that the guy. With the way more powerful 1000cc full of RRRRR's, get out of your way! It's a rare combination between sarcastic and almost funny! Truth be told the moment the road opens, they're gone. But like said going around a few cars on another lane. Just to overtake the powerful but slow moving motorbike... ;-) I've gave up on bigger 4 cylinder motorbikes years ago. Truly wise decision, at least for my conditions. Not having calluses on my hands, from riding naked bikes at higher speed it's another advantage! LOL 😂

Two minor points: there's only one USB C port and you can quite easily fit two XL helmets in the storage. It's a wicked fun bike...I'm coming from a 650 Suzuki Bandit and have also had the privilege to enjoy some of my dad's bigger, sportier and more luxurious bikes and I'd chose the ADV 350 any day. Wicked fun to ride around the city and in the twisties, comfortable on long journeys and very practical to boot. Plus it looks wicked, I've got it in red!

I have the X-Max and I can say that it does everything at least as good if not better than my Africa Twin does inside the city. These maxi scooters are true work horses. They consume very little, cheap to maintain and if you need you can even go on small trips with them. Also just install an apron at winter times and you are protected from all elements too. How good is that! You do whatever you want to do and do not get covered in mud at all.

@@searcherfor9 In regards to the suspension, I suppose it comes down to build budget on Hondas part. I personally think that money spent upgrading the Forza suspension is better money spent, than on the adv. They are totally different bikes, and I like the Forza for the wind protection. So I will likely go down that route this year. The front forks need a steering damper as well, and they can shake when the bike is loaded.

It's a great scooter. I hope there's an update coming for 2024. Since this is not a budget scooter , Honda could improve the LCD to TFT, address the problem of dust build-up in the belt drive, maybe a slide adjustment on the seat so riders can find comfortable reach and legroom because seat shape holds you in one position. And maybe air vents to draw warm air from radiator onto the rider in winter?

The Honda ADV's closest competitor in the North American market would be the Piaggio BV 350: less weight than a 400, more punch than a 250.

In the US we get screwed out of all the powerful scooters. Honda is only selling the ADV 150 in the United States. I want the ADV 350, I don't understand it, why can't we have the 350? We have some of the fastest speed limits in the world, yet we get a bunch of 125 motorcycles from Honda. It's ridiculous!

My ADV was too firm at the back until I realised that instead of the 33 PSI in the rear tyre the dealer had it at 40 PSI, it's absolutely fine now.

Off road bikes typically have softer suspension than a street bike so I find your comment attributing the stiff ride to an off road compromise somewhat confusing.

Looking to downsize from a NC750X and looked at the Forza but the endless reports of a crashy front end put me off, I wonder if the USD forks on the ADV are an improvement. That said I much prefer the dash on the Forza.m, much classier.
