1977 and punk has been around for at least a year if not longer around some places all the way back to the 60s. This song is not particular that HEAVY... it Aint no Blast - Damned Flame from 1973 for example

Well add Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash,John Lennon,Jimmi Hendrix,Janis Joplin and Fergie to the list of others who did it too. that's just the regular users not the experimenters^ yes but the difference is, Lemmy might mix OG Injectable Methedrine which is methamphetamine and when that went simple amphetamine hcl was it, he had 24g/ 1 ounce bags of it hilariously absurd amounts of it which he used to mix in orange juice but even then your looking at like what 90mg of the original stuff, that's nothing compared to what your seeing on television, which Is hick morons using a full gram/1000mg so I think safety is largely based on how its used meaning route of administration and dose, as there want an epidemic until people began using it like morons. that wasnt the case in 1940's all the way till the 70's. it lost popularity for cocaine which lasts a tenth as long, trust me oral speed is deceptively subtle but lasts way longer than you'd think. orally its been a legitimate prescription for adhd, obesity, narcolepsy used in multiple countries for the army. so really route of administration is a huge factor here. Keith Richards always said he attributed his longevity to quality over quantity. So take that for what its worth.

I still remember where I was the first time I heard this. As a teen I frequented a small heavy metal disco in the English sticks one a fortnightly for a spot of head banging in the mid seventies. When punk went overground in '77 along the room split between those that hated it and us that loved it . This tune got a play and it fucking blew me away and seemed increadibly fast at the time. It was though the perfect bridge between metal and punk. Happy days!

I bought the Motörhead 12" of this song at Peaches Records (remember them?) in Roseville, Michigan. I was just starting to get into punk. Peaches had just opened and two employees came over asking if I wanted assistance. We spent the next hour together going through the bins, trying out this and that punk band. Then they introduced me to Motörhead and I was floored. This was way before speed metal, stronger than Black Sabbath and I never heard bass guitar played like that before. Bass chords!! And Fast Eddie's guitarwork was so amazing, that I could not believe it was only one guitar (1:20). I spent the next several years buying Motörhead albums imported from Britain because that was the only way I could get them in Detroit until Fast Eddie left the band. Motörhead was never the same. What does "official Audio" mean. I'm not in any army so I don't have any officers ranking above me.... so it's meaningless. Nobody has authority over me.
