Two-part VLOG showcasing our Motorhome solar panel upgrade from 100w to 300w. We have an Elddis Accordo 125 (6m) Motorhome and space on the roof is at a premium. To this end we have had to buy solar panels of a non-standard size. These are narrow and longer than standard panels but fit perfectly on our roof top. We purchased them from Sunstore Solar.
I would describe us as novice, solar installers and have learnt all our skills from other KZfaq videos. With a bit of attention to detail and lots of research there's no reason why anyone with a few general DIY skills and a small amount of electrical theory (all of which can be found on-line) can't do the same as us.

Really well explained, might even tackle this sort of job for the next van, I have a single solar panel on Bessie at the moment, not sure what power though as it was on the van when we bought her in March.

Great video. Not easy to make when up a ladder. May be add a note in description about when mounting the angled brackets make sure the holes you drill are below the actual solar panels

Interested to know how you wired by the 2 way switch selctor to switch between house battery ecoflow . I'm doing a duplicate arrangement on our own van presntly Great vids

28:00 I didn't see you clean off the dust after sanding down. Instead of sanding down, probably a better choice would have been to clean the contact area with alcohol.

Hi Andy another great informative video and looking forward to the next one. Please can you link the video regarding charging the ecoflow from the solar panel system. We've looked into this and it was going to cost an arm and a leg, so would be interested to know. Thanks

Hi Sue. I've put a 2-way switch in my set-up that switches the solar panels away from the solar controller to the ecoflow. A solar charging lead comes with the ecoflow, I just cut the mc4 connectors off it and wired the lead directly into the 2-way switch. Part 2 of this install will have a basic circuit diagram showing this.

Great videos. Just about to take the plunge. I've got the panels just need the brackets and other bits. Can you confirm what thickness the aluminium angle was you bought - was it 1/8 or 1/4 thick. Thanks.

Great video! Just wondering what the washers and self-tappers were made out of? As I've heard mixing different types of steel can cause corrosion and discoloration?

Hi Andy, interesting video and something I'm considering when our CV40 finally arrives. Did you use all 3 tubes of Sikka? angle brackets seem a good idea and about the same cost as buying the normal mounting brackets but you have more footprint. Brave putting the plant pot up there. Cheers K.

Thanks. Yes, I did use the majority of the sikaflex. Plant pots were fortunately still there in the morning :)
