At these prices all of them should be solar-powered. It should not even be charged extra these days. Solar + awning + roof rack should be standard for these prices

Nice episode, these camper van awards...everything covered...ducato, master, jumper, iveco ( with the outstanding ZF auto transmission) a new forr transit, all great .these are the rvs we need in europe, fast, stylisch, easy to drive, well loaded and something for everyones taste. Agree with a forespeaker a Mlt or a platinum with sprinter chassis could have been elected as well..i prefer the ducato cc frame light chassis..with air ride and 170 hp....20 mpg and drives like a moped....you travel like a personnel car

TWO POINTS 1. Its funny to me as a Canadian how the Europeans/UK want their motor homes to be smaller because they live in a crowded country yet the truckers still manage to drive the large Scanias and Mercedes trucks all over the place without any trouble. I guess that the average driver in Europe/UK Just is to timid to realize that its not as hard to drive a big vehicle. 2. Paying for fuel is something else altogether though, but if you can afford a toy like this you can afford to fuel it. Its not like your trips are of any great distances like we have here in North America. British Columbia where I live is more than 4 times as large an area than the UK So even though our fuel cost per liter is less we have to drive much further to get to our destinations total cost here for fuel is probably more per trip than you would spend in the UK.

Douglas Howard - In reply to the first point the towns and cities of Europe are usually full of very small streets and so a larger Motorhome will be a great amount of hassle. The best parts of many European countries are also only accessible by very small winding roads. Those large lorries, such as Scania and Mercedes do not enter the towns very much and keep out of the centre of the cities and they do not go to areas with great views and natural beauty. It is not that European drivers are too timid, rather, they are not stupid. With regard to point 2 well, the distances travelled by Europeans can be vast, remember we are not confined to our countries. Those of us that live in the UK can simply use the channel tunnel and be in France in a very short period of time. Then we can drive across France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, all in the EU. Then If we wish we can go through Ukraine and Russia. If you think about it Europeans have truly vast areas to travel across if they wish, and very many of them do this.

brighton dude I guess I'm biased as I drive a 45 foot highway tour bus and I think nothing of the size. If I were to get a motor home I would want a 40 footer minimum and I would probably tow a trailer behind with my car. You then park in the campsite and go into the city with your car. Many of the retirees here that take up the motor home lifestyle travel from the cold of Canada down to the heat of southern California of the gulf coast of Texas to Florida each winter and then return home for the summers here. The term we use for them is snowbirds. Take a look at some of the luxury motor homes in the 40 to 45 foot range with full wall slides. They are better than some peoples apartments.

I'm well aware that in North America people do have very large motorhomes. But the situation is very different from Europe. North American cities have very wide roads. Small towns in North America are often just two groups of buildings on either side of a very large road. That is totally different from European countries where towns have many very small streets. Going around the towns is what we in the UK call a "ring road". The big lorries you have seen travelling across Europe don't enter the towns, they go around those ring roads. However anyone in a motorhome will want to enter those towns as they are often extremely picturesque. European motorhome users do travel long distances and also they access different cultures very readily. If you ever go to Morocco in the winter you would see the caravan sites are absolutely full of motorhomes and there are motorhomes "wild camping" in many places. This is because the weather in Morocco is beautiful in the winter. So, just because we do things differently in Europe does not mean we are "timid". There are good reasons for the way we do things. Motorhome users who venture into North Africa are hardly a timid bunch. Although I respect the way you do things in North America I have no desire to emulate it. I have no desire for a 40 foot motorhome. I don't want a trailer with a car on it either. That is really quite a different thing from what I am interested in.

Ben Jerry If you have these large motor homes they are the ones then that should be competing for and being awarded the motor home of the year, not some small budget minded unit. They should be going for the budget motor home catagory. Saying these are motor homes of the year is like saying Victoria Beckham is the most beautiful woman in the UK when in fact she just barely could win it in the best looking in the Spice Girls category only.

Ben Jerry the winner being 197000 pound = 307438.20 US$ You can get you this at full MSRP and you would still have money left over. www.mhsrv.com/2015-forest-river-berkshire-xl-40ql-360-w4-slide-stack-wd-dsl-gen-king-new-diesel-pusher-tx-i1435804 If the MSRP isnt discounted like it is here then this is what you get after the dealer here does his guaranteed discounting www.mhsrv.com/2016-entegra-coach-aspire-42rbq-bath-12-450hp-aqua-hot-fireplace-new-diesel-pusher-tx-i1683625 Nothing you can show me from Europe can compare for size, comfort and value compared to the USA manufacturers.

The Westfalia's sliding door should be on the left side of the vehicle by the seats, not on the right which is blocked by the cooking units. Inetrior design is much better though than the first vehicle.

campers and motorhomes are such a rip off. They are all so over priced. Always have been. My advice is buy a decent sized van for £15k, take it to a conversion specialist for £5-7k, then drive out with a £50k motorhome.

These motorhomes are homes without mobility. But it can be a good interior design idea for expensive real state cities such as Hong Hong, Toyko etc.

If people need these motor homes to go outdoor, they better stay at a cottage. All are completely impractical, not easy to drive, not easy to park. Also, it is expensive and any scratch of such a gem will make you cry.

Then you just don't understand! It's a lifestyle. And quite frankly, if you've got a large family and travel a lot, or even have an active lifestyle on weekends, it's cheaper to have a good RV than it is to get a motel big enough for the whole family. NASCAR, other motor sports, following the soccer team around for you Europeans.... hobbyists, or just those who work their ass off 90 hours a week and want to get away from it all every weekend.
