Motorhome security- it's a hot topic. And we highly recommend you add additional security devices to your campervan or motorhome.
BUT- which ones? What's useful, and what's not?
Today, we fit the Milenco Motorhome Security door lock to our motorhome. We chose it as it's a lock which has interior and exterior fitting- so you can lock it from the inside. We show you how to fit this motorhome door lock, how to use it and whether it's any good!

Yes put one on about 2 months ago, very close to door, so make sure you have the room on door frame to fit, ours catches slightly when opening/closing door. And nerve racking doing it!

We've got similar Milenco locks on our garage doors. Heolocks on cab doors and a Heolock on the habitation door which even replaced the inner skin.

Hi guys, Kool idea but drilling into your motorhome does it effect your warranty or did you check first?. Reading up on habitation warranty says drilling into your motorhome can effect it, possibility of damp. Love your vids by the way Sharky

Looks good. However, Mr WB's comment at the end was the most relevant. What about the windows? They usually are secured with silly little plastic catches. I eagerly await his solution!

Hi kat. I have this lock but we need a separate spacing plate. Can you tell me where i can get one and if they sell them ?

There are such things as microwave/proximity sensor alarms that beep if someone goes near the vehicle these are not PIR movement sensors. There are self contained cameras on the market you can conceal outdoors overlooking your van that record or take pictures when movement is detected. Best deterrent is an extremely loud alarm.

What is the maximum thickness of the motorhome wall / structure / door frame to enable this to fit? At 2:07 it looks like it caters for about a 2.5cm thickness max (at a guess)???? Sorry to be a pain :) Any idea? Thanks

I would like one of these, but I would have to mount vertically. Even then, I'm still not sure if I would have enough space on the inside to fit it as the gap between a cupboard and the door frame is only about 5cms.

You can get a version that fits onto the door frame if you can't or have reservations about drilling holes through the van . Two screws through the inside edge of the frame and job done

im having issues with security with my motorhome so the video is very helpful - yet my van is 30 years old. anyone have a 1990 fiat windows are the way in
