Yd100 2 Stroke Motorized Bicycle Build!
Update: 03/23/21! So I have been using this Exclusively! With a 56tooth sprocket! The Teeth one the 56 tooth Sprocket are now gone! lol! The sprocket is at the end of it's life and the hub is still in the same spot where I placed it 500 Trail rides ago lol!
Update:1/5/21 Over 100 miles now on that Hub adaptor and its holding perfectly still!
Update: 12/15/20 The new 56 tooth sprocket came in. 100% no wobble like the first had slightly. Either a stamping or shipping issue that damaged the first one before I got it. They say its common on larger sprockets like this that are not cnc.
Update: 12/24/20 I ended up going with a 48tooth sprocket. It was just to hard to start with a 56tooth sprocket. But we got over 55 miles on the 56 tooth and 250 miles now on the 44tooth and the hub is still rock solid And has not slipped! move videos coming shortly!
I went with a large 56 tooth sprocket. The hub was made by CHD and was very nice. I bought a multi point Sprocket by CHD as well. For the size and such the sprocket I received had a minor wobble to it later off camera when I looked into this more. I think either in shipping or when they stamped this sprocket it gave it a slight imperfection of staying perfectly flat. Either way this sprocket should work and is within limits of use by a lot still. For its size its not uncommon I'm told!

Skate board grip tape! Works like a charm! Sticky side hub. Grit side adaptor! Will take the hand of God to move that adaptor after! Even better then this method!

Had lots of people tell me jbweld, loctite or skateboard grip tape all seem to grab well. I had great results loctite. Wheels bearings cups blew out and it never slipped once till death!

I hear! Jbweld and skateboard decking tape also work well once you rough up each surface as well! But I personally never tried either but figured I let you know! Green loctite works best!

Knurled? A guy tried it actually while back. Seemed to work well if you disassemble whole wheel to do it though

@@BuildBreakFix yeah I meant to say checkered but I was talking about the adapter that way it would bite into the hub but yeah you could do the actual hub too but that would be a lot of work to take the wheel all the way apart like you said

Hello, what do you say about damping, which gives a rubber mount?. This adapter is rigidly attached to the wheel and the damping disappears. There will be jerks when moving, the chain will stretch. I would like to hear your answer, thank you!

You would just create a "slapping effect" actual term they use. Creates a flex in the system when you excel and stop. A lot of wear on bearings, chain and such. Easy way to explain it I guess. Would be if it's rigid constant force applied all time taking up slack. If you create a damping system that creates flex and the slapping effect they talk about cause the system can now slam back and forth. Not really sure how you could explain it any other way. But a prime example of slapping effect is o ring chains. They great for short term use because of the vibration they dampen. But wear out crazy fast once vibrating and such tear rings apart. Race type item you use and retire every tire change. But for a daily practical rider they fall apart stopping and going Rather fast. Hope it makes sense what trying to say. This the main reason motorcycles don't sell with oring chains same idea with flex in hub mount. It would create the same type of environment in drive system

@@BuildBreakFix Thank you very much for the detailed answer! I bought such an adapter and will install it. I completely agree with you. I just wanted to hear an answer from a specialist.

Cdh power hub adaptor. They are great for hubs 1.5inch or bigger* 7/8" or 1" are the ones most have issues with. The honest truth though over time after trying 20 types of hubs. 6 bolt disc brake hubbed wheels are the best! Least aggravating option over time. Very easy to maintain and tend to have the least failures. I had great luck with hub adaptor in the video. Never slipped. But some say over time since the adaptors clamp on the hubs bearings tend to go nuclear cause they can deform hubs over time! One other thing to note: disc brake hubs are almost always 99.9% perfectly inline for both chains! Compared to hub adaptors!

Few nice options* very well worth it. Sealed bearing hubs with disc brake hubs. Not saying you need to have disc brake! But its awesome for mounting your sprocket! Stay away from mag rims! Constantly see those fail! They crack and explode on these bikes. In last 12 months I have known 7 people near death run ins on them. Very common. Bikeberry mags are notorious for it!
