How to wire a linear actuator: • Linear Actuators 101 -...
In this video I show you how to build a wall mounted sit/stand desk. The desk is raised by linear actuators and slides on linear bearings.

This is the closest thing I've had in my head for years. I hate tables with legs. I now have a desk fixed to the wall in my office and plan to upgrade to a standing desk.

I am glad to see a different design. I was thinking odpf doing the same, but using en electric winch to raise and lower with a cable, mich faster and probably quieter too

@@Kraftmade Sure, Thank you very much and that would be a great help. I do have few questions: Wanted to know the type of Linear guide rail you have chosen and its size if it's fine with you. You have also selected strong solid steel for the rectangle tube, What is the thickness of the rectangle tube? Rest of the things / measurements I will try to manage and I would get back to you if I have any question. Hope that's fine with you. However thank you very much for the response.

What an intuitive and practical design for a standing desk! By having the frame attached to the wall, the desk doesn't wobble at all, am I right? Have a good one!

You cold make this counter balanced or neumatic instead ;) it would move far more quict, quicker and smoother :)
@swilhelm3180
@swilhelm3180 Жыл бұрын
But are 2 or 4 neumatics easy to sync together? Counterbalancing is an interesting idea. How would you anchor it at a set height quickly and solidly? Some sort of clamp system?

Great job man, exactly what I was looking for. I'm a little worried about how the linear guides would hold since I don't know how to calculate the load. Have you done the math? How are they holding after 5 months?
@Kraftmade
@Kraftmade 4 жыл бұрын
It has held up very well. Even with working from home it is still rock solid! If I remember correctly each of this actuations holds like 350 pounds so I way over killed it. Rather overkill than under kill

Hey really considering making a sit stand desk cause there's nothing else I can do right now but didn't want to buy the linear actuator or start getting deep into the it until I was certain about this idea I've seen many which use a singular actuator at the centre of the desk but would it be possible on a shallower desk to have the actuator at the back and still have it lift everything level?

When you use two linear actuators and the power is on, the actuators move up/down evenly ? I thought, there might be some sort of calibration to make those actuators works evenly.
@Kraftmade
@Kraftmade 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the motors should move at the same speed however if they don't you could put a speed controller on the motor. I got all of my information from this video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ntaKn5poyL-mqKM.html
