This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid mid-size SUV. This 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a combined 231 horsepower and 271 lb-ft. of torque. In Canada, standard AWD. In the US, FWD and AWD options are available. You can put regular fuel in the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid.
You want an affordable 3-row hybrid? You’ve got it right here! In Canada, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid Preferred model starts at $43,724 CAD, add the Trend Package for $4,000 CAD to get extra features like the 12.3” digital driver display, wireless charger, a power driver’s seat, dual pane sunroof, leatherette upholstery, power folding second row seats and 20” wheels. A black interior is the only option available.
In Canada, there is no top 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid trim unless you get the NHL Limited Edition hybrid, only 500 units will be produced and it’s equivalent to the Calligraphy gas model. Customize it the way you like with your favourite NHL team including the door sills, team branded accessories, a white matte exterior, 20” black wheels and a brown Nappa leather interior. I like the Vancouver Canucks but not that much…. It’s priced at $59,723 CAD. All Canadian pricing includes, Freight, PDI and Fees.
In the US, there are more 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid trims available, the FWD hybrid starts at $36,950 USD, Limited $43,850 USD and Calligraphy $47,000 USD. Add $1800 for AWD on all trims.
Standard features on the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid include, the 12.3” touchscreen , wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 4.2” digital driver display, wireless charger, 7-passenger seating, cloth heated front seats, manual front seats, a heated steering wheel and a hands-free smart liftgate.
In the US, the base 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid trim comes with some extras like leatherette upholstery, a power driver’s seat with lumbar support and a wireless charger but the heated steering wheel is not standard.
2024 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid fuel economy is great for such a large family hauler, 6.8L/100 km, 35 MPG city and 6.9L/100 km, 34 MPG highway.

I have started developing interest in next generation Hyundai palisade. I tried buying a Toyota grandlander hybrid in Saskatoon, but the only dealer in town is no longer taking orders and there is a 2-3 years waitlist. I checked out another toyota dealer 6 hours away in Edmonton. The dealer in edmonton is awaiting the delivery of the GH platinum max but already has cost marked up by $10,000 Cad. My 2012 elantra is on its 12th year with just regular maintenance, so i might get lucky on the reliability of the next gen palisade just like i did with my elantra.

This is such a nice car for the money. Spacious and upscale. A miss that the Calligraphy isn't available in hybrid, since your tester is definitely missing out on the extra sound deadening and acoustics. I also think they should have stuck to 19 inch wheels. These 20 inch ones are not amazing, but it's hilarious that they offer 21 inch wheels for the gas model.

Shifter note: You don’t have to push PARK when you stop…just turn off the car. The electronic shifters automatically put it in PARK and apply the electric emergency brake. I think the shifter is very intuitive…twist it forward to go forward, twist it back to you to go backwards. Da! It’s a big improvement over the push button and dial version on consoles and brilliantly opens up the space.
@stephen1991

I totally agree, this is much better. And i usually just turn off the car as well, that or opening the door will put it in park. As far as p.i.t.a. shifters, ive found the GMC ones that require you to reach toward or into the dash and pull a cupped switch outward to be the worst. You cant do it without looking, this one you can.

I like the shifter on the steering column - they used to have like 3 speed manual shifter done that way which just seemed so odd to me. So the idea I think is correct, it might need some refining to work without feeling you better just check to see if you are in Drive or Park etc. The value - my gosh it is like 40 mpg in Canada and not like 6 digits region if you were a total lay-down at the dealer (maybe you won a lottery) for many cars as well done as this. Love the simple and reliable 6 speed auto - nice battery help to baby that turbo motor like a parent spoiling the kids - it could last a long time for folks.

I find last summer when we had that heatwave in BC in my Niro, the ventilated seats were next to useless when it's hot inside the car. If they had more than just fans under the seat flowing air from the foot wells then it would be worthwhile. Now, when it's under 30 they work fine.

I have been looking at different vehicles for the last six months, mostly electric. I think this is the one for me because of the interior space, the great gas mileage, all wheel drive, and nice tech. Stop making tiny two-person electric vehicles for the USA (with every other larger electric vehicle too pricey for many)! We want a large comfortable interior with more space, not less.

Matte paints LOOK cool ... but the world is designed to just destroy that finish. I've looked at the XRT, Limited, and Calligraphy ... I want a Calligraphy with the XRT wheels and tires. The 21" on the Calligraphy are ridiculous. Who on earth wants that? These aren't compact sports sedans meant for the track ... they're big ol' SUVs that run on crappy roads during pothole season. @@andreaspencer9813 Well, I guess that makes the decision not to look at it more incredibly easy. Still leaning toward the Outlander thanks to it's large EV range and lack of true transmission keeping the drive train simple.
@ishaansaral502
@ishaansaral502 Ай бұрын
@Snerdles The Sorento PHEV is still available and has been facelifted. Santa Fe is the better one between the two, though. They seem to have allocated all the Santa Fe PHEVs for Europe.
@Snerdles
@Snerdles Ай бұрын
@@ishaansaral502 I may look at the Sorento, but it's only rated at 48km PHEV range which in Canada makes it only eligible for half the EV rebates (under 50km). That means where I am the Outlander gets 10K off and the Sorento gets 5K off, so I'd have to REALLY like it a lot more to justify the price. It also uses engine heat rather than a heat pump for cabin heating, which in Canada basically makes it a Hybrid in the winter like my existing PHEV which is unfortunate, that's one of my main complaints of my current PHEV.
@ishaansaral502
@ishaansaral502 Ай бұрын
@Snerdles That makes a lot of sense. I don't understand why the Santa Fe and Sorento get smaller batteries and no heat pump when they are more expensive and larger than the Outlander. Outlander is a great PHEV for the price and has a nice cabin and good space for the size.

Is this competing w/ Toyota or Lexus? IMO this should be slightly re-designed, call it a Genesis and make it more upscale to compete with the Lexus TX. ..and no logical reason this should come with a DCT.

Calligraphy hybrid with cream/green interior in Pebble Blue. Update: Turns out Pebble Blue is the only option where the cream and green interior is not available! I guess it clashes too much. Will have to consider Cyber Sage, Ocado Green, Terracotta Orange, or Earthy Brass Matte instead…

Always like your reviews. Out in the mid-west US Hyundai (and most other brands) are only stocked with ugly black interiors and dark exterior colors (you can have it in any color, as long as it is black... HF). If you want anything else it is only found on the premium priced model, or wait for a year for a custom order. Kind of what TFL found in their survey of "affordable base model Jeep availability, where out of almost 900 new Jeeps for sale there were only 2 available at the base price. Corporate Greedflation at work.

I love y'all's videos so much. I'm from Tennessee but two of my favorite car reviews channels on here are Canadian haha. I have the Hybrid Calligraphy, and I absolutely love it. I think it would sell very well in Canada. As you two have harped on many times, it sucks that the top trim doesn't have a bench 2nd row seat. But ultimately that isn't an issue for me. There is quite a big gap between the base model and the Calligraphy wrt useful features. However, the difference between the Limited and Calligraphy (in the US) is quite minimal. Tbh, the only reason I chose the Calligraphy is because, where I live, it is only about $2k more and in my ideal color. One last thing. I'm in healthcare and I actually LOVE the UV sanitizer. I use it almost every time I get into the car. Usually my phone, but I'll probably use it to sanitize masks in the future. I don't think it was a gimmick largely because it was made in response to the COVID pandemic. In the US, it was so bad at one point that we were running out of PPE and having to reuse masks days to weeks at a time. UV effectively kills viruses, so this would have been extremely useful during that period. Thankfully things aren't dire anymore, but just wanted to say that the UV tray was made with intention.

My family has been fans of the Hyundai and Kia brands for some time now. Between myself, daughters, brothers and father, we have had Kia Soul, 2002 Hyundai Sonata, 2010 Elantra touring, 2010 Accent Sport, 2012 Accent hatchback, 2013 Santa Fe and most recently a 2024 Hyundai Venue Platinum. Always happy with each model. I'm still driving the 2010 Elantra Touring and love it. Currently looking at the newest Kona, Tucson or Santa Fe depending on features and price. Just my wife and I now so might go for smaller SUV as I don't need the extra size.

The Hyundai/KIA/Genesis Group certainly are bringing their A-Game. Is great styling enough? If they can over deliver on price and reliability… even just a little bit, they may be able to take a decent slice of Toyota and Honda away. I doubt they’ll EVER have their solid reputations, but right now… is the perfect time to jump in. Especially as Toyota and Honda are getting a bit cheeky with their pricing and their stellar reliability reputation has been slipping (somewhat). If I were at Hyundai, this might be the Best time to ‘jab’ at them.. Hell, I might even try a Pickup (from their local/international fleets)… while the Tacoma TRD Pro Off-Trail Limited pickups are crossing the $70,000 price point. Good for the Hyundai! They certainly have come a long way from those Pony days (Stellar/Excel). Thanks for the video.

Great channel! The problem with Hyundai and Kia is that the dealers do the "market adjustment fee" on newer or popular models. Local dealers have the new Santa Fe at $5-$7K above MSRP, Tucson is $2-$4K, etc. Varies by trim levels. You don't want to know the mark up for the Palisade. The Santa Cruz and Elantra are priced below sticker. Kia does the same thing. I understand Zack's comment about the free market dictating price, but I can decide not to pay it. And I don't.

I was looking at a Genesis a while back and it had the $1500 optional matte paint. It looked great, until the salesman told me handwash, and small scrape or scratch can't be buffed or spot repaired. Even rubbing agaist the car when its dirty could mark it noticeably. I passed.
