what kind of batteries do you have? I have all nickel metal hydride in mine, they seem to hold a pretty good charge and last awhile, thinking about getting lithium ion tho

@2004grandmarquislove you will need cps to switch the options of the radio. This includes the freqs and everything else. Also how many of them do you have?

I have the 4 channel uhf models and i have a question. On channel 1 only, when i press the bottom progammable button once, it beeps and the green light flashes, is that a scan mode or what? it only does it on channel 1. Also if i press the bottom button 4 times it double beeps and then beeps as i flip through the channels, and on channel 4 i can pick up something but i think its to far away, is this the scan mode? I really need help as i am new to these. thanks!!!

@Emily Wolf the UHF are 4 watts and the VHF are 5 watts. The cp200s only come in 4 or 16 channels. Now thiers is the cp150 which is 4 channel but only 2 watts

I'm not sure but if you need some for a short time I believe dealers can let you borrow then at no charge. They can be found on eBay for about 120 dollars each with a battery and a charger.

@2004grandmarquislove when the you press the bottom button once I believe this is not scan because if it only does it on one channel it's not . It's actually the quick call moniter it's waiting for the tones. Now when you press it four times it puts the radio into service mode. It has test channels and tones and a lot of other stuff including a ham channel..

I have a set of 2 of this radios. Channel 2 is set to communicate tomeach other. How do i programm channel 3 to programm them again and how do i program other channels like police or other puclic frequencies and m i able to communicate or just listen to them. And last question can i programm a standard regular walkie ta Kiw to work with this

BTW, I believe that the sequence I suggested is a radio knob and button test, just so you can figure out if all the controls maintain proper contact. Mess with it and let me know what happens.

I have four of these that we use for my company, one had broken, I found an awesome deal on ebay for a replacement but I can't seem to link it to the existing ones, it is the same make and model, does anyone have any suggestions

when you push the button 4 times after you turn on the radio its goes into what i believe is called service mod.

When you said the company might be using a repeater, they might have been or they might not have been. If they were using a repeater, the transmit frequency of the repeater is what you were hearing. Repeaters work by receiving and transmitting on two different frequencies. Lastly when you listened with your scanner, you were hearing the transmit frequency of the radio which was 467.4125 MHz, but you weren't necessarily hitting a repeater. Usually if you were to hit a repeater you would know.

I currently own a single Motorola cp200, and I am also not sure what that function is either. I do know that it is a diagnostic mode of some kind, Here is some homework for you...turn your radio off, hold both programmable buttons down, while simultaneously powering on the radio, it is quite hard to do but can be done. the radio will make a loud noise that the volume knob cannot control, So if you are willing to perform this, make sure you are hovering over a couch or table in case u drop it.

I just bought a brand new, well i think it's brand new Motorola CP 200 with 16 channels off Ebay. i was wondering why does mine, the only working channel is the first one, all the rest it's making an annoying non stop tone. is it because it's now frequencied? thanks guys

@2004grandmarquislove that nearly the same as me I paid 100 for two radios 16chan uhf both have batteries antenna belt lip but I only got one charger. But for 100 that's a good price.

they are uhf 4 channel models. I paid about 800, this inlcuded, charges, belt clips, antennas, and a speaker mic, they are in fantastic shape!!!! Almost no sign of use, maybe a few small scrapes but thats it!!!

@2004grandmarquislove I have two 7.2 v OEM motorola lion batteries. One holds a full charge the other holds sometimes a full but usually half of a charge. For cps I had a friend help me acquire it you can message him if you want.

A license is required to operate these radios legally. When your licensed, your radios should be programmed to the license. Then you will have much better luck of using them and being separated from other users around you. You can also program in a dpl or pl for your frequency.
