That's why I stick to 90's vehicles. I drive a 99' Chevy Tahoe LT and I love it. Next vehicle on the list is going to be a 1990 or 91' Plymouth Acclaim LE or LX. Still keeping my tahoe though.

This is the most classic supercar look in automotive history. So timeless and irreplaceable. This car will never be forgotten. I seriously want to own one someday. This car tries to beat your ass if you wanna drive it fast. Fuck these modern laptops on wheels that drive for you.

Marcello Gandini's original design was actually pretty rough. It was Chrysler's own stylists who refined it into what people know and love as the Diablo. Marcello thought it was too soft, but in hindsight his design would have looked very dated, very fast if left unaltered. What Chrysler did to it made the car perfect for the 90's and into the early-2000's.
@user-fb9fl3xi7l8 жыл бұрын
+Mista Butterworth If anyone wants to see what the Diablo was going to look like before Chrysler, google "Cizeta Moroder V16". Essentially that car with very few changes was to be the Diablo.
@mr.butterworth42168 жыл бұрын
V12 That is true, the Moroder is pretty close to what Gandini was going for with the Diablo. Although the V16T's more angular appearance and 80's detailing dated it rather quickly.

A worn clutch is a worn clutch. It brings up a good point though: most magazine numbers require launches that will destroy your car, especially if it's all wheel drive (or has a tall 1st gear in the case of the Diablo), so at the end of the day they rarely mean much in the real world.

@user-fb9fl3xi7l8 жыл бұрын
+doctorlobsteroctopus They are hard to use at first if you insist on looking down while shifting and/or not putting your full arm into the shift. It is nothing like shifting a BMW, Honda, or pony car. The first Ferrari I drove I didn't do all that well with the shifter. It took a few drives with gates to get good.....I found the Diablo VT shifter to be really good. I've never owned any of these shift gate exotics but can imagine over time you'll be really good at shifting them and it will be a joy. Once you're good at shifting it, it is indeed a real pleasure.

Compare this to the MotorWeek Supra Turbo test and you realize how far ahead the Supra was for it's time in 93. The Supra Turbo is not an exotic or even a super car like the Lambo, it's a GT. However it was a very well engineered efficient performance car that even moderately modified is competitive or surpasses most new performance cars on the road today. Still looks awesome as well. I doubt Toyota will ever make a car like that again.
