I've owned mine for 1.5 years (Laredo X) and no problems with it at all. Drives beautiful, comfy and good on gas. Very safe too - had to do a swerve maneuver to avoid an oncoming car coming into my lane while i was doing 80km and it handled it sooooo well!! Saved my but:) LOVE MY JGC.

My girlfriend and I rented a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from out company Enterprise Rent-A-Car for a week. We took a trip from Austin, Tx to Oklahoma City, Ok and got there on 1 tank of fuel. Very comfortable suv, and quiet on the inside. The lighting accents inside he door panels and cup holders was a very nice feature. Having push button ignition and the touch sensitive door handles were very convenient. Wouldn't love to own this suv. Good Job Jeep & Chrysler.

I jus got one yesterday and I could not be happier, fit and finish is on par with any good brand. Drives better than my old x5 on the road and I am sure will outperform it when I take to the dirt.

If I remember correctly, this is the Grand Cherokee that was based on a version of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class SUV. At least this vehicle wasn't ruined by Mercedes-Benz tactics(like all of DaimlerChrysler).

@VIRAJ818 For a 5000 lb vehicle, 16 city and 22-23 mpg highway is actually very good. The HEMI V8 with 13 city/20 highway, but if you drive the vehicle on the highway more frequently it'll be better especially with HEMI having a cylander cut-off mode. Also in '13, I hear the 8-speed auto is coming with the Pentastar. As of '12, the HEMI V8 has a 6-speed auto like that of the RAM trucks and cousin Dodge Durango.

@SilverRaptorXL Yeah but then the black box reports said that those people's cars that "suddenly accelerated" never had the brake depressed. so basically ppl kept pressing the accelerator thinking it was the brake pedal, also the lexus incident was not the pedal, it was the carpet mats, which technically can happen on any car.

@RJBbass2000 Strand - I remember back in the 90's Land Rover started having parts manufactured in india, a long time before Tata.... The parts were shipped to the UK for final assembly for the defender. I'm glad the UK have held on to some of the production, it's a real shame its that the British motor industry went under because they were always on strike and poor management, which was probably why they ended up privatised. MG - a proud name now owned by the Chinese!! geez!!

The only problem was shit started going wrong with it at around 50,000 miles.I had 2 ignition coil packs fail in about 2 months time and the hood started rusting out along the front edge,All this at only 52,000 miles! Needless to say I traded it in for a Lexus GX460 and haven't looked back.

My stock WJ is at 140k miles (in northern Canadian weather) and it is still running smooth as all hell despite the fact that I beat the living shit out of it and cheap out on maintainence. It's funny reading comments from trolls and haters of the Grand Cherokee. Some call this a piece of shit, some call this a gas guzzler. Well, it would be a piece of shit, if you don't take care of it. How about regular oil changes, regular maintainence, upgrade parts? Maybe if simple things like that are done, people wouldn't be driving " a piece of shit " And for those that are looking for fuel economy, people who by the Grand Cherokee, could care less, and money is no issue. Geez use ya brains!

@Timleo333 You really to get your facts straight before you attempt to troll. A crossover is "cross" between a normal car and a SUV. They borrow some characteristics from Suv's but still keep the frame of a normal car, therefore making them only for light off-road use. I can't believe you thought a crossover meant a car that would " cross over" obstacles. Oh well...you're probably just some little kid.....

@Eagle99001 obviosly, it sounds like you ran the last 4 jeeps you had into the ground. And there isn't anything defective about the new Jeep here. Unless you've taken a test drive, you can't really say anything bad about it. But when you talk of Toyota, they have nothing but endless recalls. At least with the Jeep here, an owner doesn't have to question whether his/her accelerator will get stuck, or some other problem. So don't even talk about something that's defective! No car is perfect!!!
