yo this was fantastic! I landed here when I was trying to learn how to better film my rides on my new X2. I borrowed my buddy's X1 to see what the hype was all about and after few trials, I decided to get the X2. I learned a lot from this tutorial- thanks man

Been using the Insta 360onex2 as a main vlogging camera for a while now, really impressed with the camera. For duel audio we've been using the audio adapter and the RODE Wireless Go2. So far the set up has proved way more reliable than my Glitchy Gopro cameras.

@@MotoFeelz Sorry to hear, unfortunately I'm hearing of issues from others as well. All of my last Scotland series I've recorded on the Insta, didn't have issues or lost footage. If the Hero 10 worked as promised and the battery lasted then I think quality wise the footage should be marginally better but unless its dependable I'm not buying

I love that you can scrape the pegs on knobblies. Testament to how good an all round dual sports tyre can be - specifically, the Pirreli Rally STRs. Great video - as ever, everything is spot on.

Anyone notice that 360 clip resolution gets butchered by KZfaq even if I export in 4K? I can't seem to find a way around this. And this is on processed video with other video sources that look good. So for example, my Galaxy Note 9 footage is crisp but my 360 footage is pixelated (only after uploading to KZfaq). :o( The footage looks so good then YT pixelates it for some reason. I'm using a GoPro 360 with Hitfilm Pro to edit it.

I use the software on my PC and it let's me export at whatever resolution and bitrate I choose. It's not going to magically make everything better, but I find 1440p with a wide view at 28 mbps is a good compromise. Also, for viewing angle, you can lock the angle of view so unless you physically are turning the camera, it will always point the same direction while you edit.

youtube takes 4k video waaaayyyy better than 1080p, so i always export my footage in 4k @ 80mbps(prores if i'm editing in another software), even if it doesn't make that much differences on the export, the youtube compressions are much better

@@MotoFeelz the official export resolution is 1080p, but if you do 4k（80 bitrate or prores） on pc studio, it's gonna be sharper, cus the center of the frame has the most pixel density that's higher than 1080p(didn't test what it really is), also smaller cameras like this don't do well with trees, just too much details to cover with limited bitrate, i usually avoid trees also cus it requires higher dynamic range too.

@@MotoFeelz have you made all the videos with the phone app ? the phone-app only uses 4k on the pc-App you can use the 5,7k (so double amound of pixels) and export afterwoods also in 4k gives much better results than what i have seen here - also your editing is way above everything i have done.. very good and impressive. only the quality of resolution and bitrate can be much higher than here shown.. so give the desktop-app another try !

I use premiere pro to upscale my videos to 4k make sure it's exported in .H264 and not .H265

A tip maybe you know. When you use insta360 on your computer. Before you save it to your computer. You can change resolution from 1080 x 1920 to 2160 x 3840. Just change the numbers. You can’t change fps but you can change the resolution from the app on your computer

If you get the Max Lens Mod for the Hero9/10 you can use Horizon Leveling to 'lock' vertical video. Just hold the GoPro vertically and start recording then turn the camera back to horizontal and it will continue to record vertically.

also the lock direction function will lock the direction of the view, using the gyro data. so it will follow your head or your initial direction you set up

If you download the Studio app for MAC you get the option to type resolution manually and export in 4K as well. Nice Video though!

I just want to say your really helping to sell me on the insta360. It does come down to what your using the camera for. I have an AX33 for my normal filming and I’m looking at adding to both my B-Roll and trying special features of 360/VR with 360 footage.

If you edit the video in the app as you doing, but then once edited don’t export yet. Go back to the main menu, select the “stories” and choose the video you have edited, when you export using the “stories” you can export at 2K. As far as I know you can only export 4K with PC software.

Yo, what bike is that??? I love it! I think moto vlogging would be a lot of fun, but there's a million channels on bikes already. Something I noticed about your video is that youre speaking in a normal tone just as you would talking to a friend, some YT'ers talk 100 miles an hour trying to keep your attention but it was nice that you dont do that. Definitely enjoyed the vid!

Here’s another placement that I used in this initial test of my X2. It’s mounted to a steering column ball mount. I reframe a bit, especially at the beginning, but I mostly use it to get the front view including the instrument console displaying speed, lean angle, RPM, brake pressure, etc. Here it has the advantage of being continuously powered by my USB port. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rc6Tm5B-stOrin0.html

Good video. I just completed an 1100km roadtrip with my new i360 and will have to sort through the footage. I just mounted it to my mirror and found it easy to record and stop bits and pieces while riding.

With the Insta 360 Studio PC/Mac Software you can export at higher resolutions than 1080p.

This was a cool listen/watch - i currently have a gopro MAX which is their 360 cam, its pretty sweet tbf as it also has normal gopro mode and 5 different directional microphones etc

First time seeing your vids. Great content! When using the app I find it tons easier using a touch screen to execute the view changes. I agree the novelty views of globe, for example, are only useful for beginnings, endings and transitions. 360 cameras are great for making more interesting videos but only in little bits at a time.

I’ve got an adventure channel showcasing great rides in nz and a montage of different angles adds so much power to a vid. I bought a Gopro Max about 8 months ago and haven’t got around to using it yet. Then your video came along and kicked my ass. Loved the way you sussed out the 360’s potential and worked out how to get the best from it. Like you I bought it as a time saver mostly but you pointed out a raft of additional practical ideas. I’m not into all that extreme stuff at all. Now,.... to watch that other one you did......
