The next BIG release for the Motu Origins Cartoon Collection for SDCC 2024, we got one of the most anticipated figures, Tuvar / Baddrah/ Two Bad! Even tho this doesn't come out until the 25th of this month, you know I had to find a way n here it is folks! In this video we will look at all the packaging, unbox amd review each figure then combine them into Two Bad amd check him out! Let's see if he is really worth the hype!

Mattel doesn't give me anything for free so I can truly say what I want and how I want. I love creating stuff in general, and this Motu line gives me the opportunity to do so in so many ways from making my own figures , to making up my commercials / stories to enjoying what others create and sharing it with all of you. I really enjoy the whole editing process so that's a plus too. Thanks for coming along on this ride with me brotha 👊! There's still so much more to see that I have planned down the pipeline 💯

I hate how mattel is stringing out the OG line and keeps giving us the "cartoon collection" and the crossovers. Dont get me wrong, i like the other lines, im just impatient to finish off the vintage line.

@@MrHomeArcade Yeah I know. They've been dragging it out on purpose the entire time. First it was the comic colored variants, then Rulers Of The Sun starting in wave 8 (2022), then they moved it over to Mattel Creations. They have been artificially dragging the line out. This year all we got was Rokkon, Sy-Klone, Extendar & Night Stalker. That's pathetic for the entire year. That's only 3/4 of 1 wave + a vehicle. I feel like I'm never gonna finish my collection.

@@sci-fi.tsunamiPretty much any healthy toy line is going to have paint variants like the mini comic figures, 200X and LoP figures. They get as much use as they can out of the few unique parts with these figures. I think at least part of the reason for moving the remaining vintage figures to Creations is to ensure they sell through those particular characters because they pretty much all have a majority of unique parts. Unlike most of the line, these final figures don't share many parts with existing figures, so tooling cost is much higher on them than the bulk of the line. I'm honestly surprised they banked on Cartoon Collection being viable at retail given the seemingly weak performance of the main line in stores. But maybe they think the Filmation cartoon is more recognizable to the normie audience, and Turtles are pretty much always good sellers.

It seems like Mattel is dragging the origins collection so that they can squeeze all these other lines in. It says if they believe if they finish the origins collection, then people will stop buying the toys. But if they give you all the other we still buy those in anticipation for the continuation of origins.

They know what there doing. I collect them all mainly cause I like to have extra new parts for customs but I'd like to jave the other origins figures that are missing.. hoping they release more on this second half of 2024...

I'm not like that at all. I can easily ignore the Cartoon Collection. And there are only a couple Turtles Of Grayskull figures I want. I can easily pass on the majority of that line too. Mattel is not getting money from me unless they make what I actually want.

So far i have been good at resisting most of the spin off lines as Mattel has made it easy as ROTS, MOTU TMNT are mostly trash figures IMO with a couple of exceptions.

100% agree. It might not work on everyone, but I think that's definitely their logic with what they've done. If "vintage" Origins & all the spin-off stuff under that banner ended, I'd be fine with ending my collection there. But they've gotten me to fully buy in to ToG (TMNT is an all-time favorite, couldn't resist the mashup) & I've got a couple CC items so far. Not sure I'm going all in on those but it's tempting. I'm disappointed that this release wasn't for vintage Origins though! Edit- I'm also picking up the Stranger Things 2packs as they come out. I like the washed out He-Man & Skeletor & the ST guys will be good for parts.

The leg socket that pops easier will probably be used for Modulock/Multibot future figures. Same opinion on the cartoon faces.

2:15 The lightning bolt on the Baddrah side is flipper 180 degrees. That is why the strands don't connect. This would then put the other "bolt spot" over Baddrah in the package.

@@MrHomeArcade I figure some parts swapping with the SDCC set & the eventual Creations Two-Bad would work, but I really prefer not to paint figures so if the colors are off that could be a pain. I prefer the "vintage" Origins over CC to begin with, so this was a bittersweet announcement. Side note- do you have issues with paint rub/chipping with your painted Origins customs?

@ioncewasmikey for the first part about color matching to make him, I found a nice spray paint I used for the chest that worked well for me. Now for paint rub, with the paint markers I use , most of them work pretty well while others not as much. Sometimes with the arm where they connect to the chest , u can get rub marks there but I'll try to dremmel the inner arm a little bit to help with that. One great tip is with painting black , I use a black sharpie cause ut dries quick n doesn't comes off . I just have to spray the parts with the matte spray so it matches with the black on the figure that's already there. I'll go over all that in more detail in a week when I do that custom showcase video

Great review! So good, you saved me my $50! 😂 It looks great but my whole Cartoon Collection is going to be the characters from "the diamond ray of disappearance" only. So I'm left wanting Triklops and Rammy. It looks amazing, just not having the toy versions finished first is a bummer. We will end up with Kevin and Julie before Two-Bad Origins at this rate 😂 This had made me more excited for the eventual origins release though. Have fun if you're getting him! Too bad it's a pass for me. Fingers crossed for Lubic!

I like the box a lot. The idea of having 2 separate figures combining into one is a good one. I also agree about the aesthetics of the 2 heads which unfortunately isn't the best. It's true that in the cartoon they had a stupid face, but here they look really absurd. I don't remember if they had the shield in the TV series, so I won't comment on the lack of the weapon, but if they had it then it's another flaw. The holographic painting is beautiful.

Your customs are objectively superior. The cartoon look on this kit is too campy. The kit as a whole, i.e., presentation, package, intent, literature, and exclusivity is amazing. But the final figure(s) do look goofy because of those heads. I want a regular origins kit. I can wait for Two-Bad. He is too cool. Thx for giving the heads up to us shoppers. 👏👏💯👍

Well, I think you just saved me some $$, Mr.H.A. I didn't realize this was a Cartoon Collection figure. I haven't liked most of the heads in the CC and I especially don't like these. I was planning on trying to get this set on the 25th, but now I think I might pass and hope that they do a "regular" Origins Two-Bad later on.

Great review! I’m looking forward to getting this even though I cherry pick the cartoon collection. I love that he has a double comic! Also Mattel is trying to establish MOTU as an evergreen brand which you find in the toy aisles, so it stands to reason they will release multiple lines and re-do many characters just so they’re in the public consciousness. Let’s face it, if only Origins was at retail I don’t think we could count on the likes of Blast attack, multi bot and twistoid to carry the line.

It is so weird to me that they went with the Cartoon Collection to split them this way. Would have made more sense for Origins standard set. Baddrah's head really does look too big with the next to Tuvars

I love TwoBad but i am really on the fence with this one as i dont own any other cartoon line figures and really wanted a vintage Origins one. I find the head sculpt on Baddrah to be really bad. Not sure if its worth just getting as an investment and placeholder until the Origins Vintage figure is released in about 2000 years time (At this rate).

Dang, kind of sucks that they made this guy the SDCC exclusive. Since the vintage Origins style is likely going to be exclusive to the Creations website, and the Bebop/Rocksteady combo is going to Target, they've got a nice variety going but it still might be rough getting some of these. Worse if you want to get a few extra for some custom ideas.

I’m not feeling this one & it’s cartoon line. I was ok seeing. Sun man & his crew .then tmnt did a hostile takeover & then we got some cool ass cartoon version. I love turtles but & new toys but it would have been better if they were orgins & had weapons. Cool picture but give me a club & shield. Old style two bàd would have been better & listed for $25. But thank you homie for getting him early for us to preview

Yeah I like everything about these guys except the heads. I'm into cartoon good guys but not the cartoon bad guys. I think I'm going to try to use Classics heads on these guys if I'm able to get ahold of them. I don't think the Masterverse heads look right. They're kinda too ugly. Classics strikes the balance.

Yup! I totally agree with you. I want the Vintage Collection version. I hate the Filmation cartoon & have 0 interest in this piece of garbage. I can't even keep track of this line anymore since they started the Cartoon Collection & Turtles Of Grayskull. I still don't know WTF is going on with Terroar, Vypor or Lord Grasp. The only thing I know is I have Necro Conda on pre-order at BBTS. Mattel fucked this line up real bad for 2024 & I have lost interest 99%. I'm going to finish the Vintage Collection but I have already moved on.

Yeah definitely been a slow year for origins figures with the 2 others lines going in hard. I hope they turn things around soon for the fans that prefer origins 🙏 🤞... but we both know it won't happen lol 😔
