Red tailed hawks are the most common hawk found in North America. We are sure you have seen them in the skies and trees of Mount Airy. As a part of the Town's year long celebration of avian awareness, Town staff headed to Carroll County Recreation and Parks Hashawha Environment Center and Bear Branch Nature Center in Westminster to learn more about this fascinating raptor including their amazing vision, falconry skills and where they like to live.
