Mount Jerusalem National Park and Nightcap National Park separate the Tweed Valley, from the Byron Bay region, with views down over both. It's lush tropical rainforest and home to the endangered Nightcap Oak tree, hiding many secrets and delights. Hidden waterfalls, historic tracks and routes and home to the future Tweed Byron Hinterland Trail.

About Caro::----
I grew up in Sydney, Australia in a family that never went camping or on outdoors adventures.
Therefore, it came as somewhat of a surprise to discover hiking and camping in my mid 20’s and it fast became somewhat of an obsession.
Since then, I’ve become a leader with the Sydney Bush Walkers Club, Search Manager with NSW SES Bush Search and Rescue and author of 'How to Navigate - The art of traditional map and compass navigation in an Australian context.'
The outdoors totally changed my life and I’m keen to share my knowledge and stories with others - hoping that they’ll catch the bug too! Apart from sharing tips here and on the KZfaq channel, I am also a casual guide for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, encouraging young people aged 14-17 years old to fall in love with wild places.
You can also find me as a regular contributor for Great Walks and Travel Play Live Magazines, live on radio ABC702 Weekends with Simon Marnie and appearing as a speaker and workshop host at events such as Bushwalking Australia Conferences, ProBlogger, ORIC (Outdoor Recreation Industry) Conference, SheWentWild and Women’s Adventure Summit.

Usually... but surprisingly, not this time. They don't bother me. Just the circle of life!

@@LotsaFreshAir I remain surprised how some sections of the bush are heavily infested while others not. Not always to do with the level of moisture, at least not obviously so.

Great video, but it's shame to put music over the natural sounds of the forest.

Alas, David, the sounds of the forest (when filming with handheld equipment) quite often have wind noise in the mic (even with dead cat filters). I've been a producer/director for many years (long before I started making bushwalking videos) and if you watch any documentary they'll have a tweaked soundtrack. Unfortunately, natural sound tracks don't always hold attention. Each to their own...
