For your first dropper post I reccomend the one up components dropper post as it is one of the best dropper posts I have ever ridden and it is so reliable. Please like so sam sees this

I mountain bike and for dropper post I would suggest either a Brand X Ascend or an X Fusion Manic. Also, I would suggest setting your tire pressure to 20 or less for more traction and trail smoothing.

2 things to look out for with dropper posts are seatpost diameter and frame routing. 30.9 and 31.8 are the common sizes which droppers are made for and 27.2 can be found on older or cheaper bikes and the will severely restrict your options. Often hardtails and older bikes aren't designed for internally routed dropper posts but you can also get around that with droppers that have cables at the seatpost collar.

Droppers are easy to set up. You just connect the cable to the post. Some bikes have the cables running through the frame, that can be tricky to get through. Make sure you get a post with an external cable hook up spot if the frame doesn't have internal routing. Also; all the cool kids take their reflectors off for trails, just don't ride on the street with that bike afterwards.

Installing a dropper is just like putting in a seat post except for the wires. I recommend a pnw post because you don’t need internal cable routing. I love to see your improvement. With speed comes confidence. Keep riding and have fun!

RockShox reverb or brand X are the way to go with dropper posts. Really love your MTB vids. I’m 15 from Scotland and there’s so many Great places here for mounting biking. Thank you for the videos.

smaller size = more playful. plus, santa cruz is like 3 grand for the cheapest. diamondback is a pretty good brand, the release/catch one are great.

By the sounds of it your tires are really pumped up and to get more grip on the trail you may want to let some air out and have the pressure around 25 psi

I would recommend a x fusion dropper seat post there cheap and really good but if you want a more fancy one you could get a rock shox dropper seat post or a fox dropper seat post

Cincinnati doesn't have too many singletracks like central North Carolina where I moved to when I was 12. But will try some of the trials when I visit family in the Cincinnati area. You should use the Trailforks app to help you navigate on the trails and know which way your going.

Sam please do more of these vids they’re awesome! Also what brand is your bike? ( is that a proper sentence? 🤷‍♂️ Does your bike have a rear shock absorber? Also, if you haven’t already, you should go to a bike store and get the fork adjusted to your weight. You can also buy something that makes it so you can adjust it yourself.

Get a brand x ascend dropper post. It's relatively inexpensive and really good. Get the ascend 2 if your bike has external dropper routing or the ascend XL if it has internal routing.

If you get a dropper post you might want to go to your bike shop because there a inner routing one and an outer routing one and you don't want to get the wrong one. Also fun to look at the bikes
