We did the Carriage Roads in September 2020, during COVID. We had the place to ourselves. Riding for HOURS and not seeing another person was amazing.

Living just 75 miles from the park, the carriage roads are a absolute favorite destination for us! We regularly ride them, and recently I did 30+ miles in a morning and early afternoon, on a recumbent trike. Great workout and unparalleled scenery to boot!

Ah man, Acadia, one of my favorite places in the whole world. Its hard to beat the sunrise/sunset from the top of Cadillac Mountain; random fact, watching a sunrise there makes you the first person in the US to see the sun rise as its the most elevated easternmost point in the US. Biking it is an really enjoyable experience more suited to group rides with those not so crazy about challenging singletrack, so even people who don't really mtb that much can really enjoy it. As many times as we’ve been visiting Acadia I’ve never got my tired butt out of bed to see a sunrise from one of the mountains. We do sunset hikes all the time, Pemetic being my all time favorite. Thanks for love and fun facts!

Hey Cindy. It really depends on the route you take. If you are renting I'm sure the bike shop people would be more than happy to help you plan a route to avoid too many climbs. Let me know what you thought when you get back!

Where did you park to access the carriage road and the Jordan house/restaurant be the half way point? I’m trying to plan a trip up there this summer, I’m seeing on the map that some of the carriage rods do not allowing biking.

What route did you take for the 20 miles? Was it a loop or did you have 2 cars?

Can I use my road bike with 25mm tires

Hey! I think you could totally could ride the carriage roads on a road bike. It's all packed crushed gravel which is pretty smooth. If you are a hardcore rider you should checkout Park Loop Road which circles the entire park and has some incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean.
