Mountain Slidewinder off-ride HD Dollywood

If you've watched our on-ride video of this fun water ride you know it winds its way through a tree covered hillside, so we never thought we would be able to film off-ride footage due to the foliage. Then again, we've never been to the park so early in the season like we were for Wild Eagle media day.

I here they took it out because either Dollywood built it themselves like blazing fury or the company that built it went out of business, either way they couldn’t get parts for it.

I went on this and it is the best water ride of all time.It goes pretty fast and gets you really wet.

Yes it is,and this is just like a water slide,What were you expecting a log flume.Also this is a one of a kind ride.

At the park I used to work at we had a similar ride and people did fall out. The next sled is not allowed to go until the previous one has safely cleared the end zone with all passengers away from the track. Workers would have to walk up the track at least once every few weeks to rescue a child that had either fallen or jumped out for a laugh.

Silver Dollar City in Branson removed their version of this ride *Covered Wilderness Waterboggan*. The silly thing was built 7 stories up on a tower. In the middle of the Ozark Mountain Range.....they couldn't find a hillside to build the goofy thing. I worked on that ride from 1989 to 1994. What a trip that was.

this is the funnest ride ever. my friends and i went on it on a school trip a few years ago and it went soo fast. haha. we got absolutely soaked.

Thanks, yesterday was pretty fun except for all the rain. Turns out 156 other school groups were there that day and Dolly Parton there that day(didn't see her) I went on a lot of the rides you listed and I enjoyed a lot of them except for Thunderhead. I wasn't told how fast it was until I got on the ride.

I know Dollywood used to be a Silver Dollar City this was the same exact ride that we had at Silver Dollar City in Branson Missouri it is no longer there I believe the tower that you have to walk up to get to it still sits there this is a very fun ride not sure if Dollywood still has theirs but if they do they're lucky and if not what did he get replaced by

This weekend I will be going to Dollywood with the orchestra and I was wondering if its normal to bring ponchos(people dont want to get wet -.-) and whens the best time to ride?

Yeah I heard about the rain :/ at least its just about a two hour drive there. Also do you have any tips for some of the rides that do not go upside down? I'm pretty sure everybody in my group hates going upside down.

The ending to the ride looks a shit tone safer then what i remember from like 04, it just had a hill or rollers and if your fell of your boat you were in pain.

From the bottom after you get off there is a long conveyer that takes them back up the mountain. i'm 28 and i use to ride this when i was 7. I still remember what seemed like a 2 mile hike from the bottom just to get to the top. But then again everything's bigger when you're a kid!

The version of this at sister park Silver Dollar City was a total turkey. They couldn't find a hillside big enough for it......in the middle of the ozark mountain range......so they built a 7 story tall tower. This put the ride sticking out in space and people were *afraid* they would flip over the side.....so the chutes were capped with tops so they were a tube. A dark as night tube, you couldn't see anything happening. Such a waste of a great ORIGINAL ride idea. Glad SDC got rid of it.

I loved it the one time I got to ride it and I am pretty jaded about a lot of rides. It was appealing because one doesn't see it at any of the other theme parks. Sorry to read some people feared falling out. That probably means it will disappear one day.

I HAVE A QUESTION. HAS THERE EVER BEEN ANY RECORED RIDE ACCIDENTS AT DOLLYWOOD? MY FAMILY AND I ARE GOING SOON AND IVE BEEN LOOKING UP DIASTER AT THEME PARKS AND SO FAR ANDI HAVENT SEEN ANY AT DOLLYWOOD.

Buddy look hear I'm going to say this as politely as possible If you think that is bad go to kennywood amusement park and ride the thunder bolt because their is no SEAT BELTS going down big drops and every drop you get butterflys in your gut and fly out of your seat. Or go to ceder point and check out there rides.
