I just read this guy’s comments on the long version of this video that he found this rug in the bottom of someone’s nasty pool. He took it to challenge his skills and see if after cleaning would anyone put it in their home! Still a ‘No Dawg’ from me!🤮

it depends on how many maggots / how wiggly they are. if they're really wiggly maggots sometimes i'll save the rug. if the maggots have died, it means something far worse has happened, better toss the rug.

I can't say Id work that hard on THAT rug, but I'm grateful that other people are willing to step up and do more for our planet. This trend is huge in Japan but we're slow catching on in US. "Just buy a new one" mentality isn't good for the planet. ******UPDATE***** Please make sure you read and understand my comment before you make another comment about wasting water or using chemicals. Also, remember that this video tells us nothing about what kind of rug this is, how it was made, or how much water or what kind of cleaner is used. Turning off notifications for this bc about 1/3 of you are either miserable & looking for an argument where there wasn't one, or have no reading comprehension skills. You keep insisting that I basically said it's better to save everything at any cost. I even said I wouldn't have bothered this rug myself. Also I believe this rug was cleaned by a pro to promote what a great job they do more than to argue for sustainability.

You would never know or guess the previous condition if a relative gifted it. I worked in carpet cleaning for a while and we would use specialty shops like this for area rugs. The quality going in and coming out was insane. Same as what some of the area rugs were worth.

I sadly have to agree, has caused me to really question what my purpose on this earth is. Are we really the most intelligent creature that we know to exist? How could we possibly watch a rug filled with maggots and find it entertaining and enjoying? Certainly not ASMR, yet our western society has fallen into an era of darkness among entertainment. Never have we been so able to find the answers of life itself, only to be plagued by the primal urge to watch maggots be cleansed from the grotesque rug. He found this in a client’s backyard and saw it as a perfect challenge for the channel. He’s simply cleaning it to see if he can. I understand you're just stating your preference, but the goal of ASMR is to trigger a tingling sensation, you know.. to help relax/sleep/study. It doesn't have to get 'straight' to the point. They are available in many forms, and yes, even 'weird' tapping noises and or audible sounds.
