Mounting a Recaro seat the hard way, in a Porsche 911 996

Жыл бұрын"Hard mounting" Recaro Pole Position seats in the 996 mainly to save weight. I don't usually like the mass produced hardware for mounting seats, or anything for that matter. It's just better when you make the mounts to fit your specific needs.

I am trying to fabricate a rear deck lid for my 996 that has no wing. Just a rectangle grill like a vintage 911. Where did you get your deck lid? Reason I ask is its smooth aside from the wing portion. If I had that I could cut off the wing portion and mount a rectangle grill in its place and it would make my 996 look like a vintage 911 in the rear.

The deck lid on my car at the time of this video is from GT Racing. www.gt-racing.com/996-gt3-or-cup-deck-lid-part-675/ I have since changed it to a duck tail, which has a retro look you may also consider. It is the CSR carbon fiber model from RPM Technik rpmtechnik.co.uk/product/csr-carbon-fibre-ducktail/ I will post a video with more information when I get a chance. Good luck with your project. I like your grill idea, I have never seen that on a 996.
