Mounting of ball-bearing full extension runners: Do-It-Yourself with Hettich

Ball-bearing full extension runners are mounted in two stages:
Start by screw-mounting the narrow side of the two-part runners to the drawer side profiles, making sure the front end is flush with the front panel.
If no drill holes are provided, mark the points on the inside of the carcase where you want to mount the broad side of the runners. The position of the first screw is always 37 mm behind the front edge, other exact dimensions are determined by the height and length of the drawer.
Now screw the full extension runners to the carcase and then push both sides of the runners into each other until you hear the drawer click into place.

Instead of drawer, is it possible to have a shelf. I want to be able to slide my electronic music keyboard from under my desk. Like a PC keyboard. Can I mount the drawer attachment to the side of laminated pine wood?

Dear theot71, thanks for your questions! If you want to mount pull-out shelves to this kind of runner, you will have to "develop" some way of fixing: e.g. try mounting a slat to each runner and your shelve on top; also think of some kind of front panel so it looks a little nicer. A more professional approach would be using an undermount drawer. There are also runner versions made with extra 90° brackets to mount shelves. I was confused before about the instillation of these as I am not a cabinet fitter, now I am totally lost after your explanation which is just short of all details about these runners

Hello, thank you for your comment. You can use almost any full-extension ball bearing slide for the installation situation, e.g. as in the video, the KA 4532 with Silent System. For disassembly, you should make sure that you can still easily get to the unhooking levers later. You may need to plan a little more depth for this. Best regards, your Hettich Social Media Team

This is a barely ok installation guide, but "John Heisz's 'Installing Drawer Slides Fast And Easy'" is oh so much more simple!

Google I'm sure. I am the problem with viewing the installation video for Blum tandem undermount slides. I have not seen a video still that shows attaching the slides to either the drawer box or the cabinet. Please show me a video.

@@lostinmyspace4910 you prob had a bad set; not so in my case. I used these on a 70kg sliding kitchen mounted on my camping trailer. Still working perfectly.
