This time on the AutoEdits Jeep Wrangler Rubicon we mount up a set of 37" BFGoodrich KM3 tires on the Vision bead lock wheels I've been running for a few years now.
The most unique thing one might find interesting in this video is the size of the ‪@bfgoodrichtires‬ KM3 tire I'm running... a 37 x 13.5 R17 !!!
That's right... I'm going down a size from the 38" Milestar Patagonia tires to the KM3's in a 37" size but staying with the 13.5" width.
Will most @jeep folks mount up their own Mud Terrain tires on bead lock wheels in the garage for their own Jeeps? Probably not, and I honestly think MOST people don't need bead lock wheels. The new bead on these tires is so durable that most Jeeping applications would be fine on a standard rim... even at low tire pressures off road.

Oh man, another autoedits video?! Thanks Jason! I upgraded tires on my JL to 37 inch ridge grapplers last year and it was a pretty big difference in terms of ride quality compared to my 34 inch ko2’s. A little more vibration, which I think is from the more aggressive tread pattern, and a little more wonder. With that said, the performance gains off-road and the cool factor negate any negative I incurred, lol

Cleaning up the extra rubber gunk is definitely not overkill. I want the cleanest and best mating surface for my tires to adhere to, especially the bead. I do the same exact thing when changing tires. It's not overkill, it's perfection.

Hey Jason, I know you like to always prep and go a little overkill so just want to recommend looking into the 3m adhesion promoter (rust-oleum also has a similar product). You apply it to anywhere you'll have 3m tape such as you used on the TPMS. It increases the bond strength by a lot and definitely recommend it.

I ran the 39 km3 for a little over 2 years, wheeled all over southern NM eastern TX NC and eastern Arizona they were phenomenal I did slash 2 though near the end, they took so much abuse and did chunk some without failure. Now being said they are load range C and are softer than the 37 variety and perform much better than the 37 load range E my buddies hated those and never hooked on obstacles that my 39s did. Sucks their on back order you would have loved them!

Nice video...Interesting choice. It doesnt seem apples to apples comparing the size of a soft rubber Patagonia with 35k miles to a new BFG. If the Patagonia was new, I imagine it's 2" taller than the bfg. The 39" km3 = 38" Patagonia in size and tire flex. The load e isnt going to flex like a load c BFG 39×13.50.

I see folks doing these over the top builds with pallets of fresh, shiny new parts but with used tires. Noooooooooo!!!!!! Don't do it! Lol I switched from ProComp to those KM3s and regretted every inch I drove on the road. So horribly rough compared to the ProComps. Now, since you off-road far more than I ever did, maybe it'll be a better fit for you. But I hated the KM3s. Just my two cents. Lol 😂👍

They actually feel really good on the highway and around town so far.... what pressure were you running?

@@AutoEdits I really fluctuated wildly because I couldn't never find the right PSI for the ride. I went as low as 26 to a consistent 36. But it always felt the same. Of course, I did buy mine directly after I beat the heck out of the suspension on the Rubicon trail... so I probably should blame some of that rough ride on my worn out suspension. 😂😂😂

Interesting. I have a little over 100 miles on it since yesterday and the 30 (cold) felt really good... I'm going down to 28 cold and will run some miles there but it already is amazingly good in the on road department.

You leveled off a worn tire, full tread would have added a lot more and made the bfg look much shorter.....

I was a little disappointed at first but now I'm looking forward to dialing this setup in. With these tires, I'll be able to "send it" a little harder on some obstacles.

Historically true and I was pleasantly surprised by the end result of this setup. The 13.5 width really makes a different.
