A V8 has been a popular swap since the days of the CJ5, because who wouldn't want more power? In this video we walk you through what we went through to install this SRT 6.4L 392 Hemi. We used the American Expedition Vehicles swap kit, which provided a clean, well engineered foundation to work from! This transplant provides almost 500 horsepower, which most JK owners only dream of.

well, it technically has the same engine as a gtr cuz the jeep has a 3.8 and so does the gtr and so does the buick gnx

That was an Adams drive shaft there. Not trying to hate, but it certainly isnt stock. Not sure if this would make a difference in someones elses project, as I actually have the same ones in my Wrangler JKU and didnt have that problem. The stock drive shafts need to be replaced quickly anyway as those things were terrible. Nice choice of drive shaft though, the group over at Adams is top notch! Thanks for the video! Luke Laylin, as far as the AEV 6.4L Hemi kit goes it’s $7,750. Now that’s not including a new transmission obviously or the additional parts list you’ll have to buy from Chrysler.

U can get all the parts for half the way more than half that price, I can see $20k+ if u take it to a shop to get it done.

What made you use the AEV kit over the JSS kit ? I'm very curious because I want to get my Jeep ready for a Hemi swap this year and I'm torn between the 2 kits.

We liked the AEV kit as the finished install provided a very OEM looking Engine bay. Overall we were pleased with the kit, we have also used parts from Dakota Customs on other HEMI Projects and been very happy with their products as well!

it is not a factory , Rzeppa jointed driveshaft in video ; that is an Adams 1310 DualCardan aftermarket driveshaft . The guy probably was so flustered by the obnoxious music playing that he meant ," this is driveshaft that was already on this ..." instead of what he said.

Best to get the 6.4 or 5.7 out of a ram truck to prevent having to spend more on parts. Example the oil pan

Actually no....The best engine to use is from the Grand Cherokee. The truck HEMI has an intake and accessory drive which are too big to fit nicely.

AEV does not make a swap kit for the TJ. But the 5.7L is a popular swap for the TJ and many companies have developed parts to make it relatively easy!

If the new 392 is an option for you! That's probably your best bet! But this is always a good option as well! All depends on what you're looking for!

The JKs have the same drive line parts as a RAM 1500

We upgraded the driveshafts as well! 1350 CV Shafts were installed!

All depends on how much u get the motor and transmission for. Reusing old parts and finding lower prices can easily get it down under 15k if u do it urself.
