Dan, if you line the bird table with a bit of rigid plastic or a square of lino it would be so simple to clean out.

Maybe someone already mentioned but mix some cayenne pepper in the feed. The birds won't taste the pepper but once the mice get a good taste, they'll leave the seed alone up there. For cleaning, you could get a silicone mat to put in the bottom of table. Loop some string on the corners so you can easily pull the mat out to clean it.

Great content love the channel not all videos have to be 30 mins, just do general short vlogs of your daily activity or what ever comes to mind is fine. After seeing the water on your table after you using the hose pipe it could do with a few drainage holes putting in it to let the water out. That's a problem I had with mine it was collecting water and the food was sat in the water and went rotten so the birds didn't touch it. The birds on my table only like sunflower seeds best I put the seeds out and they eat the lot so no waste.

I'm happy with a draw lol.. Milton fluid is what i use on my bird feeders bud. Good vid x how about making a big pumpkin jack o lantern and cutting a big hole in the bottom hang it up and paste peanut butter in it so the badgers have to put their head up into it so it looks like a furry scary badger pumpkin monster 👹....

vacuum the feeder out😮 and just clean the vacuum out. Also drill some small holes in the bottom of the feeder to drain any water that gathers inside. Another idea would be good for you in such a dark place at night would be stargazing, moon and planet watching, the sky is always busy😅 yes dan a TELESCOPE😅😊 most come with a phone adaptor these days so everything looks bigger and better

My husband put chilli flakes in with bird food l believe chilli powder is ok as well . Apparently squirrels can’t stand the heat and it doesn’t affect the birds and mentioned by rspb

Hello Dan and Mazzy , Hope you are well , Great video , you Bird Table looks nice and clean now , i know you are going to think im mad (i am ) LOL i have used a steam cleaner on our bird tables as it was bird flue time a few months ago so i heard , to stop the little mice ect i soaked a cloth in white vinegar on a saucer type,put under table , took it away next day ,no mice for 3 weeks , beware it can ruins your grass plants and your weeds , and strips your varnish , may be dont use it Dan LoL i did it once only, i seen a mouse with red face markings in our vacuum cleaner so i welcome mice Back in the Garden now , not the house , o Dan it was me who told you about the Badger squeaking at 2 am in the garden well my friends Garden , the badger come back next day again and nicked the toy which had a chocolate smell on it took it over the road in a field as my dog found the toy but did not touch it , that toy traveled , the badger on the first day went totally mad squeaking the toy ,loud and quick , you must try , the toys with the chocolate smell or just wipe chocolate on them , your idea sounds a Great one , it will be nice to see , well thank you for sharing , Take care Both X X 🦡🥎 🌞

Autumm started 23rd sept. It was last day of summer the same day. What about a silver foil square tray in the bottom of the bird cage. Then very easy to take out and clean. Xx

The dog toy won't sqeak if you cut an hole in it as it works off air pressure when you squeeze it.

try stapleing a skirt around the bottom of the bird table and then the mice won't be able to climb around it.

Would foil in the bottom of the bird feeder work. Then you could just scoop up the foil and crud and throw it away and if the mice do come and wee on it at least it wouldn’t go through to the wood

Have you tried any of the hot pepper bird food/suet pellets to deter mice eating it? Apparently the birds can't taste it but rodents can and don't like it. Maybe worth a try.

Have you tried putting a disc on the bird feeder like they have on ships anchor to stop the mice climbing up the pole to get to the food

Put tin around the bottom of the feeder and the mice can't climb it.

Dan why do t you drill some holes in the bird table so the water will drain away,birds will not eat food from the bird table if it smells of rotting seeds believe me I have proved this over and over the smell is so potent for birds you need to wash it out with some Milton it will sterilise the table,

YOU NEED TO DRILL A HOLE IN THE CORNER OF THE BIRD TABLE TO LET THE WATER DRAIN OUT

line your bird table with greaseproof paper then you can lift it all out and throw it away

Why don’t you try putting a dog or cat cones collar ?what a vet put on pets around the bird table post to protect the feeding area. they won’t Be able to climb up. Worth a try ?

Hi Dan watching your trail cam then I bought two trial cams lots of bird food prep balls feeders and two bird tables the first time I set the cameras up not one bird to take a look at what I did so I think I'm not going to get any birds in my garden next door's got three cats and they use my garden as a playpen and now they're having a dinner lunch at midnight snack as well take a look at the video when I send it can you send me your email address so I can send you the short little video of the trouble I've got with my bird table and no birds coming in my garden keep making your videos I really enjoy them and they make me laugh too all the best Sam 27/12/23
