I was shy and reserved like you my first few weeks of college. I cried , I wanted to go home because I was a real family oriented person like you but I quickly learned I couldn't meet people or make new friends unless I left my dorm room 😂. So get out there..walk around and learn your campus. And participate, participate, participate in your freshman events. You'll be amazed at what you learn about people just from standing back and observing (without them knowing you're watching)and that way you'll know who to push back from and who to let in your circle. Good luck on your entire journey! Have fun. Trust me, it'll go by faster than you think and you'll wonder where the time has gone. Be very present and live in the moment. These memories are gonna last a lifetime. Oh and don't be afraid to ask, say NO, or take good advice from those who were there before you. These are all things I wish I would've went into my freshman year knowing.

I went to school out of town by myself as well jashae. Everything will be okay , once you meet friends and be apart of the activities up there all the nerves and home sick will eventually go away. It’s probably best to find a hobby or sign up for something to keep you busy but if you don’t you always got us you can pick up your camera and talk to us or call your aunt Toya anytime your felling down and y’all can cry it out on the phone together but stay strong and put god first and everything else will fall in place . I hope fall 2023 does greatness over your life 🙏🏾.

You can do this!! I know you just moved in but, I want you to be safe. I would recommend getting a cart to help you bring up your groceries and changing the rug at the door to the inside of your room or get a new welcome mat all together because people are crazy. Again, if it was my sister or family, I'd tell them the same thing. Safety 1st. You guys did an awesome job decorating your room too!!

Get yourself a collapsible cart or wagon on wheels and keep in your car so when you go out shopping, you will have it to put your grocery in and roll it to your dorm. This way you don't have the hassle of making trips back and forth to the car and don't have to ask anyone for help. Amazon has collapsible wagons and carts. Use it to lug your groceries and laundry to the laundromat.

Awwwww you will do good,my daughter was in college in a dorm room,but she shared it with someone else,I was ready for her to come back but I got use to it,she went to Dillard Unversity,she lasted 7mos and i could'nt take her gone no more so she's back home now but she's still in college in Houston Tx.But she goes to school online everyday.I pray you have a sucessful safe,happy school year.❤❤❤God bless you

Omg you have a private room. My first two years of collegw I had the traditional dorm with a roomate and community bathroom. My junior year I had a quadruple apartment where we each had our own room and bathroom. My senior year I was over my dorm and had my own room. College was exciting. Enjoy it! I just finished my masters.
